How Safe Will Flying Be In This CORONA VIRUS periode , ???
As we get every day new info abouth this virus and how it progress and infect people , we also see that one way that it infect people is by inhaling the virus we also know the more particals you inhale the more severe is the damage it will cause when you get sick.
Thats why the advice that you hear more and more is to take everything outdoor and ventilate as much as possible to prevent superspread.
Now my question to everyone is and specialy ( Chris Martenson ) how safe do you think flying will be if the airline keep the middle seat row empty , are the Pall HEPA filters up to the job to filter out all the virus and prevent people from getting sick
When i fly back home from Manila to Amsterdam beginning of April 2020 i use a N95 mask , goggles on and gloves , thankx god i return home sound and safe , but traveling is my passion so i am curious how safe will it be in the future , ???
Hi Eddy, the good news is that most people in an airliner are breathing quietly, not singing or shouting, so I don’t think the broadcast of virus particles is going to be particularly high, especially if everyone is required to wear some sort of mask.
Fomite transmission (virus spread because of things we touch) is sounding less risky.
My sense is that, while non-zero, your risks, especially if you are wearing an N95 and eye coverings, is quite low. I’d love to see a study that shows if the overhead vent being on increases or decreases your likelihood of being exposed to active virus particles.
BTW, gloves are without value in general unless taken off and trashed as often as you would normally sanitize your hands. In healthcare, we change our gloves between patients and sanitize our hands before and after wearing them.
