Health Care Reform?
Just got back from the pharmacy with a prescription for anti-biotics to knock out a rather tenacious sinus infection. (Yes yes, I’ve tried my neti pot, herbals, etc., and also the anti-viral my doc prescribed *before* giving me anti-biotics…)
20 caps of Cefdinir 300mg (a generic substitution for Omnicef) ran me…$112.99…. Yep, nearly 6 bucks a pop. Either I’ve got the meanest bugs in the world up my nose (and therefore require the Schwartzenegger of antibiotics) or somebody’s making out like a bandit. When did antibiotics get so expensive? At that conversion rate an ounce of Cefdinir = $565 or so. Forget PMs! I’m investing in anti-biotics!!

Aaron, can you explain more about how things worked fine before government involvement?
Here is my simplified understanding of how health care should be in the U.S. and throughout the world. I think health care should be like our highways. We all have equal access to our highway system. We aren’t restricted or have to pay higher tolls to ride on a certain highway compared to others. I think doctor visits and treatments and medicines should all cost the same for everyone. If someone can’t afford medicine or treatment, then there could be private non-profits that could help those in need.
