AP-

“If I plan to form an intentional community, I have to be able to gauge how people will behave within that community based on their beliefs and behaviour NOW. There is no more valuable use of my time than trying to get a fix on what is workable and what is clearly hopeless.”

You really plan on having all within your intentional community fit into your mold of what is good and acceptable?  Even within the Christian community there is constant bickering and back and forth of dogma etc.  To rapture or not to rapture?

I could, by your writing judge you a liberal who can’t spell well, and keep you out of my community.   But then I might miss an opportunity to build a beautiful garden with you and feed our children together.  I have no interest in conforming anyone to my beliefs.  A good community will have all races, beliefs and perspectives.  How utterly bored you will become with nothing but like minded people, there is no such thing anyway.

VF- There was alot you wrote that made me bristle with response….but Interestingly enough it’s your nickname for AO that got me.  My great-great Grandmother was the adopted daughter of Percy Florence Shelley, the only surviving child of Mary Shelley.  So I like to claim her as family if not by blood.  You must have got AO and myself mixed up….

As long as you can vote you are most dangerous to yourself, and dangerous to me, but only in a peripheral way. The word, “behaviour” as well as “colour” are spelled with “our” for those of us with an English or Canadian background.  I have no desire to engage you in dialogues about chickens, cabbages, sewing, nor be party to the interesting conversations that take place in your religious community. Your post is a thinly veiled passive aggressive attempt to get under another’s skin. Kill them with kindness. Oh, Nurse Ratched of the vegetable patch, how I would LOVE to be your neighBOUR!

Friends all, there is only division to be found here.  Sides have been chosen, many, many words have been written and very little has been said.  It is your choice now to foster community or continue to ensure that it is not to be.

Čhetáŋ,

The words, and apparent argument’s expressed within this thread are for learning purposes. I have no real grievance with anyone here, not even toward ao, who has written magnificently, and has been known to hold court with many of the best I’ve read at cm.com. Communities of every size need to be tested for their resilience, and proven against weakness, so that the strong may lead. That is the way of your ancestry is it not? Without it, there would be no ancestry, and you would not be here to write.

But what of the subject central? What of the very brilliant and talented execution of wordplay by darbikrash, xraymike, V and agitatingprop? What happened to the message? Where was it stolen and hidden, and for that matter, why?

There is a more than subtle difference between a discussion, and a vandalism of any medium of discussion.

Words. Sentences of words. Paragraphs of words. Pages of words. Reams of pages of words. “We find what powers the sun and we make bombs of it.” What is the truth in that? “We create wealth and we become obsessed with greed”. What is the truth in that? “We achieve power, and we go mad”. Is there a truth in this statement?

Why indeed perform the task of joining a discussion, to give nothing, and take away the privilege of a shared philosophy? As was stated earlier, if you pour wine into sewage, you get sewage.

This isn’t why I write here, that you can be sure.

    Re: Glenn Beck

We believe it is time to close out this particular discussion.  As you know, this thread has become a political debate characterized by a lot of emotional exchange between crystallized political viewpoints, and not focused in analyzing the 3E’s, or in helping individuals or communities take actions.  The issues we seek to focus on affect all of humanity, and know no distinction between left and right politics.

While we value everybody’s opinion, it is ultimately part of our responsibility to guide and focus discussion on the site.  We think this thread has fully explored its potential, and we ask the participants to refocus themselves on issues more related to Energy, the Economy, and the Environment.  This thread will now be locked.

Thank you all for your excellent contributions on this thread.

aka Miss Shelley,

Don’t you bristle my dear. In the courtroom of life, they’re is no mix-up, they’re really just words; purely passive; not wholey aggressive. However, if you put the words Passive and Aggressive together, they hold a whole different meaning altogether …
