Completely gave up the mind mush that’s called TV a while ago.  Don’t miss it, don’t want to go back.

Me too! A red pill (positive) side effect. Cut expenses to the bone almost two years ago, so satellite TV went by the wayside. No regrets.

    Re: Glenn Beck

i think he is a little heavy on the drama but the message is loud and clear.  a good sized amount of the problems we face today are a direct result of our failure as a society to elect politicians with character and who actually take their oaths of office seriously.  we failed in our most important responsibility as citizens of america and now we are paying the price for that failure.

I don’t watch him(don’t have cable) although sometimes I will catch a youtube of his show if someone posts it and says you have to watch it.

Anyways, he used to have Peter Schiff on his show all the time. Beck is a CT resident as well. Do you think Beck, or Fox News for that matter, have Schiff on his show once during his Senate campaign? Nope. The “news” network of the tea party rallies completely ignored a candidate, Schiff, who was endorsed by all the tea party groups in CT. Fair and Balanced? Nope. And that’s why I don’t have cable.

I’m both pleased and surprised by the response this thread has garnered so far.

I like Glenn. I always thought that if a poll was taken, most people on this board would lean more to the left than the right. I didn’t think there would be so many that like Glenn. Maybe the others are listening to that Mother voice in their head, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything all”.

Glenn does like drama. He also seems to like facts. He is not always right, but the times he has been wrong, he freely admits it later. He does an interesting job of weaving God into his message. I like where he has come from and where he is now. My greatest fear is that some nut-job will take him out for his strong views.

My wife has attended his live event in Salt Lake last month and she had a wonderful time. She is also going to his event in DC later this month.

Beck is a performing circus act who is being positioned as a clown to discredit issues that the genuine freedom movement embraces.

Certainly, on several issues Beck jives with populist sentiment, but on all the major fronts – war, the patriot act, warrantless spying, the bailout, and new taxes, he is nothing more than a shill for big government.

Are you sure we’re talking about the same guy? A shill for big government? No way. That’s like saying Dr. Martenson is a shill for the oil companies.

Remember he works for a publicly traded corporation Newscorp He is the Alex Jones of MSM. Like I said disinformation in order to be effecive, must be 90% accurate. Lures you in with some truth then leads you astray.  Rupert Murdoch would never let the whole truth on his air.  Go ahead and call into his show and ask about the Federal Reserve.  He’ll hang up on you before you get to your question or at least mock you.

    Re: Glenn Beck

There’s no doubt that Beck has come a long way. He went from organizing pro war rallies only 6 years ago to saying things like ‘America doesn’t need to export its democracy’. He’s even called for defense spending cuts. He’s done a number of 180s for the better IMO. I think he’s even hip to peak oil.

With that said, I cancelled cable awhile back and never watch his show. I don’t watch any of the cable talking heads. Cool
