I know that I may be opening myself up for some criticism by posting this but what the heck.
I'm just wondering…what do Chris Martenson.com readers and members think about the ideas that Glenn Beck presents on his TV and/or Radio show?
And I'll let you know that I like him and find myself agreeing with a lot of his opinions.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Who is Glenn Beck? I don’t watch TV….
I like him. I believe he believes what he says. He knows how to promote his next hour, show, TV later that night, etc….
He speaks to the level of the main viewer and that isn’t meant to be a knock. I sometimes wonder if he reads CM.
He is really hammering this administration and the culture. I would like to know other’s opinions as well.
i like Beck, he is trying to call America back to its founding priciples in his own way. he does a good job of tweaking the left and at the same time revealing things you’ve not heard or perhaps not thought about the way he does. it gets a little depressing though watching his show because you do get frustrated with the insanity emanating from DC.
I’ve nothing against him in particular, although I don’t (and won’t) watch him or anyone else on Fox News.
In general, I have a problem with a purported news network merging opinion based presentations under the mantle of reporting. Reporting (and news) is something totally different that what his show is, or O’Reilly or Hannity for that matter. In defense of this crew, neither of these guys overtly claim they are news reporters, but to most viewers, this not how it comes across with their faux panel discussions rigged with pundits usually sympathetic to their causes.
The current state of American TV “news” is driven by shopping, not objectivity, you pick your ideology and shop for the news channel that delivers the closest to what you expect and are preordained to believe. It seems to me that the aforementioned programs are set up to appeal to a specific spectrum of viewers, with Hannity the most blatant, followed by O’Reilly, and for that “voice of reason in the wilderness”, there is Beck.
I say, No thanks, to all of them.
Never miss his show. DVR to the rescue. Tends to rehash things a bit. Is not on to 2 of the E’s yet, but seems to do a good job on the economy in general, in a way that a reasonably alert viewer can understand. Keeps up with the crazy aspects of economy and politics. Probably a significant reason my wife is open to CM’s message.
HIs call for citizen participation is rather parallel to what I interpret Chris to advocate (pay attention, get involvrd).
Would be great if Chris could get on the TV show. Would crash his server with the number of hits shortly thereafter, but would help spread the word. We ought to be able to get back on in a day or two 😀
I agree with almost everything he says, and he usually cracks me up as well. More importantly, he backs up his arguments with facts and history lessons.
I first learned of the economic crisis from Beck in 2005, back when things were booming. I stumbled upon him while channel surfing; there was this guy I’d never heard of describing how the current deficits and spending would lead to crisis. His presentation would have fit right in here at CM.com. I don’t watch him (or anybody else—no TV!!!) but occasionnally catch him bychance. (Didn’t know he has a radio show too.) During the health care debate he traced the infiltration of socialism back a hundred years and revealed quotes from way back then detailing how socialism would triumph through socialized medicine. It was chilling. I know he’s controversial, and he seems quirky, but I try to deal in facts, data, and information, all of which he marshals copiously and persuasively. I would not readily dismiss what he has to say simply due to Political Correctness.
He is rude and irritating …. nobody is perfect … I like him anyway . I think if he keeps digging there is no telling what he will find . He does not seem to be afraid to dig and report what he finds . I am surprised he is still allowed on the TV. Of course I do not agree on everything, but you know how that goes .
My thoughts .. He’s a very good actor & loves m&m’s .. sorry about the size but it needed full view
