Everyone’s help needed: Financial Sense Newshour

Hello all,

Here’s a great mission for our Brigade: Let’s get Chris interviewed on the Financial Sense Newshour. For anyone not familiar with it, this is one of the most popular financial podcasts on the Internet.

They operate a 24 hr "Question Line" at 800 794 6480. That number is toll-free if called from the United States or Canada. If you are somewhere else, you can still call this number (by prefixing it with country code 1), but normal toll rates will apply.

If we can get all brigade members to call this number and leave a short message we’ll get their attention and hopefully get Chris invited for an interview. Here are some basic guidelines:

  • Make your message short and concise. They have a 1-minute limit policy and they seem to favor short, clear, to the point questions.
  • The format is intended to be for asking questions, so try to phrase your message as a question, e.g. "Have you guys heard of Chris Martenson?" or "Are you familiar with Dr. Chris Martenson’s Crash Course?" or "Can you guys get Dr. Chris Martenson in for an interview? His Crash Course is so in line with the theme of your show that I think he’d be a perfect interview guest for The Big Picture"
  • Address the hosts by name as Jim and John. I’ve noticed that all the "questions" they use on the show seem to start with "Hi Jim and John…", so I’m guessing they favor that wording.

It’s important to ask your question in your own words. Please don’t quote the following exactly otherwise it will be obvious that we organized this effort to influence them! 🙂  But here’s a sample "question" you might paraphrase into your own words:

Hi Jim and John! This is <name> in <state>. Are you guys familiar with Dr. Chris Martenson? What do you think of his work, and would it be possible to get him on the show for an interview? In case you’re not familiar with his work, this guy put together an absolutely amazing free online video series he calls The Crash Course, which explains the economy, energy and the environment. This is a perfect compliment to your show! After watching the Crash Course, I finally understand everything you guys are talking about. He goes into debt, our national failure to save, the cause of the housing bubble, peak oil, inflation, fiat money systems, and the whole bit. You gotta get this guy on the show!"

Thanks for your help, everyone!

Erik

p.s. It’s probably better if we don’t all call on the same day. Please make a note to make this call sometime between now and the first of the year…

    SUCCESS!

Congratulations, team! It worked.

This week’s FSN podcast acknowledged "We’ve gotten several calls about this one subject, so we’ll play just one of them and then answer it". They played a call from Mike in New Hampshire, referred their listeners to the site and the Crash Course, and said they would try to get Chris on an upcoming show!

We did it! I think this is but one example of the success the Martenson Brigade can have. Let’s work together to make a list of other organized campaigns we can undertake to promote Chris and the CC!

That’s fantastic news!!!

If I see anything, I’ll be sure to post it here so we can do the same thing again.
