Ebay bans sellers from listing PPE equipment:
Me, like you, have seen this coming for awhile now (January 25th. 41 days ago for me). PPE equipment was selling out on the first night. I decided to offer them on online sales platforms, ALWAYS offering items for under the ‘gouging’ competition. My logic was that it’s bullshit for someone to come along and wipe out the inventory and horde them in their basement – so by making important items available to the public would be a better thing. Shipping boxes to China 3 weeks ago made me feel like I was actually contributing to a crises in a positive way. And profiteering? Well I say fuck money, because it won’t be worth anything unless you run out of TP in the coming market recessions. So along the way I have gathered that someone behind the curtains does not want the public to attain PPE, down to making it a black market thing now. Hope you guys got your shit together. I have many ‘hot media topic’ things available if anyone requires (“reasonable” prices and expenses). Stay safe everyone φ
“COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – Important update to associated listings”
Due to regulatory restrictions across the United States, we have chosen to ban certain items listed on our site.
Effective immediately, eBay will block new listings and start to remove listings that sell:
•Masks including N95/N100 and surgical masks
We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and quickly remove any listing that mentions COVID-19, coronavirus, 2019nCoV (except books) in the title, description, or MPN.
These listings may violate applicable US laws or regulations, eBay policies, and exhibit unfair pricing behavior for our buyers.
To learn more about the eBay policies, we invite you to read our three most relevant policies on this topic: Prescription and over-the-counter drugs policy, Disaster and tragedy policy, Search manipulation policy.
We will continue to communicate updates through our announcement board, so please stay informed here.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

It’s an interesting approach, isn’t it? Ebay (and Amazon now) riding in to save the World from the evil price gougers (from whom they’ve been steadily pocketing fees) banning the sale of ANYTHING related to sanitation, disinfection or self-protection…by removing all of them from availability. Yeah, that’ll fix it. Good luck finding those products at your neighborhood store. Which is sold out of them. Where the sales clerk, for all you know, is infected. It’s not every day that billion-dollar companies behave so selflessly and heroically.
I try to resist channeling my inner Alex Jones, but there’s a convergence of events here that really do look like somebody wants people to get sick. First they engage in this concerted campaign of mask shaming, where you’re told 1) they don’t work at all, and 2) if you buy them, you’re depriving healthcare workers who need them. So, the masks magically know if they’re being worn by a medical professional and then they do work. And, if you had not selfishly grabbed that 10-pack of N95s, then the administrator from Johns Hopkins, who was also pushing a shopping cart around Home Depot instead of negotiating a wholesale contract with a medical supply company, would have gotten them. So, if you dare show your masked face in public now, everyone else will know you’re stupidly gullible, and/or a greedy hoarder. And now, if none of that matters to you, you can’t buy them anyway.
Scratch the Alex Jones reference. It’s my inner Ingrid Bergman that’s starting to manifest, because what I really feel is gaslighted.
Unfortunately, I think this is a case of where a few bad apples destroy it for everybody. I have no idea what gets into people price gouging.
They should not ban anything right now, hospitals need these masks and the quickest way to get a mask or sanitizer is on websites like Ebay,I don’t see a problem when hospitals price gouge visits to the ER,or anything else you go to the hospital for, or how pharmacies price gouge medicine you may need to live, thus this is why medical insurance is so high, the government doesn’t want the public to have masks, thus this is why home depot and lowes and Walmarts all pulled these items off shelves and websites, not because people bought them all, they removed them all
