    DIY Presentations

Yesterday I gave a one-hour, one-shot intro to the Crash Course and Transition. I think there are other Brigade folks who are doing the same so I’m starting this thread to gather thoughts and share resources.

I assume that folks on this thread have found the CC useful themselves and are seeking ways to share what they’ve learned with others. However, this thread is not intended for thoughts about facilitating group CC experiences, but rather for other presentations that members give that either point to or build upon the CC.

In my case, I wanted to create something that provided a briefer, less daunting entre into the issues with the desire that participants would be motivated to both learn more and take action. I haven’t yet hit the mark. Have you?

    Re: DIY Presentations

I’ve begun work on the same idea.  I got not very far before my class killed me with homework and project.  Now, I’m back.  I’ll be looking through the forums for more information that has happened while I was away.  I think there is a place now where people are uploading their presentation slides.  I want to find it and look through it for ideas.  My strategy, at this point, is to create a 15 minute pitch and a 1-hour pitch, then I can use either one depending on the willingness of the audience.  Like you, I simply want to raise awareness at this point, but in addition, I want to use these efforts to build community around me.  A follow on idea is to have interested people gather together to discuss Ch 20 ideas.  … don

Hey Don,

I’m still tweaking my one-hour presentation – I don’t really want to upload it until it’s in better shape. I’ve done the show twice now and have realized that the ending isn’t what I want it to be. If you or another Brigade member wants to see the work in progress I’m happy to send it along, but I don’t want to upload a less-than-finished piece of work.

Bob,

Understood.  I’ve made significant progress on my outline over the weekend.  I’m going to solicit DIAP to help me pull it together as power point and slices of Chris’ and other’s audio.  I’ll share as soon as I have something.  If you want to see my outline, write to me on my personal email (see the brigade email thread in general discussions).  If you want me to put you on my email list, see same thread.  thanks!  … Don

I’m very interested in trying to give one hour presentations to my community. I was wondering what chapters of the CC you guys deem most important in condensing the information down to one hour.

A nice breakout combo is Chapters 4-10, 12-13 and 17-19 in three separate sessions.

Good luck.

Does anyone know how to add subscript into the flash? I plan to share Christ’s Crash Course to more friends, whose native language is not English.

Actually, I made a presentation about "fiat money", lasting for around 1 hour, and many of the materials are extracted from Crash Course. If anyone is interested, I can send it to you.

I’m new to this forum… Does anyone know how to upload & share the files?

flyingcat –

Welcome to the circus.

Brandon did a great job getting a file sharing/hosting site set up.  If you upload we can all pull it down as needed.

Thanks a lot for letting me know that thread. It works great!

I have uploaded the PPT "Money & Inflation" on the file center that Brandon created:
