    (ego) Bruising sex!

[quote=Travlin]

When you think about it the whole concept of sex is pretty hilarious.

You too? What a relief! I thought I was the only one whose wife laughed hysterically, that is when I can get her to put her cell phone down.

It’s best to just laugh and enjoy it.

That’s what I told her.  She just mutters  “Enjoy it?  I’ve been vaccinated slower!”

    intriguing thread

Travlin,

Intriguing thread, I love this kind of stuff.  However, personally I have kicked my “preparations” just recently into high gear and I cannot help but risk sounding like a buzzkill…

How does this really affect any of us?  What can we do about it, or how can we use it to our advantage some way?

I am asking in all seriousness, and not with the intention of being critical.

It’s the weirdest thing, isn’t it? It’s a very odd exercise with all kinds of mystical romantic associations. I simply learned about it way too young–wasn’t ready for it emotionally.  And yes, all of life contains just enough absurd, ludicrous elements we can laugh if we allow ourselves to.

I would like to respond to your request, but I’m not sure I understand just what you are seeking.  I could do a better job if you could be a little more specific about your question, “How does this really affect any of us?”  By “this” do you mean my initial post, or the broader situation, or something else?  I’ll be happy to reply when I’m sure I accurately understand the question.

What is the meaning of “this”

Well, I don’t understand how you cannot simply read my mind.  I think that is a perfectly reasonable expectation… (just kidding, of course)

I guess I just wonder how the awareness of the existence of some “Shadow Government” can apply meaningful action into my life.  There is another poster to this site who has referenced the Illuminati several times and I would have the same question for that poster.  (can you reference other posters/posts by name?)  What could I do with the information?  How can I use it to improve my preparations?

My wife has taught me this is a common genetic defect in men.  Wink

Now that’s a good question, and I don’t have a good answer.

As far as the “shadow government” goes, I don’t see a wicked cabal plotting in a secret room to destroy America.  I see the usual process of history were multiple interests compete for influence, and some join forces when their interests coincide.  These players include central banks of multiple nations, and the mega-corporations that have become as powerful as nations.  They have vastly grown in influence and I have slowly come to see them as capturing our government to the detriment of us all.  One result will be that we can’t expect government to do much to slow or reverse the deterioration.  This was pretty well covered in this thread. https://www.peakprosperity.com/forum/after-destroying-us-middle-class-how-will-us-corporations-survive/51551  Several posters made good comments and Xraymike79 is well versed on this subject.  It seems increasingly clear to me that the current effect is that the American middle class is being destroyed as large corporations respond to the competitive demands of global economics.  Our standard of living may drop drastically.

How can you apply this knowledge?  On the macro level, it helps you understand the meaning behind the events you witness, and gives you a better idea of what to expect and how soon.  As Chris points out, you can make a strong argument that the middle east dictators, who ruled for 20-30 years, are suddenly being overthrown now because food prices shot up to unaffordable levels, and the cost of food commodities can be tied to the US Federal Reserve creating huge amounts of dollars.  The more you understand the big picture the better you can see how this might effect you personally, as in oil immediate shortages and general price increases.

How does this effect your preps?  Can you develop a plan to get to your present job without a car?  As more Americans lose their jobs and medical insurance, fewer will be able afford a hospital.  Yet babies will still be born and the demand for an experienced mid-wife may increase if she has transportation.  It could be a good way to make a living independently.

I wouldn’t get too concerned about the “shadow government” specifically.  It is just one factor in a much larger picture that Chris explains well in the Crash Course.  Just follow his advice on preps, and his updates on events and what to expect.  The trick is to fit that to your personal situation, and only you can do that.  Hope this helps, sort of.

Best of luck.
