Covid or Vaccine Spike Protein shed?
My anecdotal situation. My husband had his first shot a week ago (Thursday last week). So far, knocking on wood, he is ok (as far as we know).
Late Friday last week (a day after his shot), I started having cold symptoms – headache and chills, and then running nose. This has been on and off pretty much since then and is ongoing.
Since my daughter goes to school and had some throat issues (now gone) and a kid was diagnosed with Covid in a parallel class this week, we all did a Covid test this Friday.
Not sure if my getting sick is linked to husband’s vaccination, or whether it is a coincidence (I work from home, did not go shopping or socialize with anyone recently, etc.). Will keep you posted.
Update: Husband just texted – all three of us tested negative.
In Feb. I was around a newly vaccinated person (within the last day or so) for a few hours. The NEXT day I woke up with all all my joints sore. I thought I might be getting sick, but the joint pain just got worse and worse and didn’t go away. Pretty soon my fingers were swollen, numb, and painful and walking was difficult. I was fortunate to get in to see a rheumatologist within 8 weeks. The diagnosis? Psoriatic arthritis. I had never had any autoimmune conditions. May be a coincidence, or not?
Neither spike proteins nor your body’s reaction to the spike proteins will cause a valid positive test. The test is not for spike proteins – it tests for viral genetic material instead.
As Ision mentions, it is known that running too many amplification cycles can cause false positives, because even scraps of genetic material can be amplified until it looks like integral genetic material. I generally trust tests in which fewer than 30 cycles were necessary to arrive at a “positive” result (whereas Ision apparently would prefer 25 or fewer amplification cycles).
If you still have a copy of your test result, does it list “cycle threshold” or “CT” with a number next to it? (Some labs report cycles, some don’t). If you have the number and it’s fewer than 30 (Ision would say 25), then it’s most likely a valid positive result.
And as mentioned, the test isn’t equipped to detect spike proteins. Like another commenter said, you likely actually got Covid itself, either from your son or from your older lady friend, or elsewhere.
Mondo Congrats on beating your cancer!
That’s really helpful for me to remember. I don’t have the CT of the PCR test, but I do have the result of an antigen test a couple weeks later that was positive. So yeah, I should just stop worrying. I’ve got the natural immunity.
bringing back an old post since I am researching “jab shedding” because my mother decided to get her 3rd moderna 2 days before thanksgiving…
This previous PP post indicates that shedding is possible, and the FDA has known about it for a while now.
My husband got the first shot under duress 3 weeks ago.
Days later our family had a sore throat for about a week. Sniffly nose. We said it was just the dry air. I may have been.
Fast forward to today and I have started my period. I am not due to start for another week! I have not been more than 2days early in the last 10yrs or so. Coincidence? I no believe soemthing has shed. Spike proteins. Something has affected my biology for this to happen.
My mother in law is post menopausal and after her moderna shots came on what seems to be a period! She is nearly 60yrs old.
