    Re: Collapse-A Documentary- Mike Ruppert

And yet our religion or what we place our faith in, seems to me what intrigues us to keep reading.

I don’t mind learning about anyones faith….I love reading VF – who takes great care in writing about what is important to him. I love reading Aaron who just seems to stand tall against a hurricane force wind.  I even like V who sends me scripture in private messages!  I can’t imagine a world where sharing my faith could be too controversial for a controversial thread.

When I first watched the crash course a thousand thoughts whipped through my mind that evening.  Most of them had everything to do with the people I love.  Many of them were about my faith in God, and what His plan must be, about how I must trust in Him first and not myself.  This is what sustains me.

I love to learn how others cope….all of you who know what I know about the end of the way things have always been.  We all here have that in common and that is HUGE.  Come on.   We have way more that pulls us together than that which separates.

All my everyday friends think I’m losing it….who cashes in IRAs to buys farmland?  You are the only ones who get me….

Romans12.2 – I really enjoyed your post.  I haven’t had had anything to add to this thread but have learned a lot from seemingly opposing points.  The participants have been strong, steady, and articulate in stating their cases – “heavy hitters” all.

You bring a dimension to the discussion that is very welcome.  I’m talking about spirituality (not religion) – the nurturing of one’s soul.  While I don’t subscribe to any religion or dogma, I do believe there is more than what we physically sense.

re: Aaron Moyer

Strangely enough (that’s irony in case you didn’t catch it), there is a good reason not to discuss the topics which have been banned from all parts of this forum, including this one if you take the time to read the TOS, thank you VF for reposting the relevant bits. Why are these topics banned? Because it detracts from the actual discussion, something which people can have more objective dialogue about, into something that is subjective. More water-muddying.

Speaking of which, why have we had to discuss this matter instead of the actual topic of the thread? It seems like a lot of discussions on this forum are quelched under nit-picking, because some people seem to relish taking an opposite stance to disagree with others.. to prove their point? To feel that their political or spiritual stances are being represented? I only just joined this forum, and you’ve been busy slagging me off as a “leftist”, thank you very much for the welcome, but *you* detract from actual discussion here when you post such drivel. It makes me wonder what I’m hoping to gain out of being here when it’s all about left and right to people like you. I don’t care what is left or right, you know nothing about me so kindly put it aside and keep to the topic.

re: Don McCleroy — we’re talking about his biased beliefs being enforced onto publications which school children (who haven’t had their frontal lobes developed enough to think criticially about what is being presented to them), and Dr. Martenson who is discussing his beliefs to a mainly adult audience, which people have a choice in whether to read his work or not. I still stand that it is utterly bizarre that you are comparing the two.

Well stated SS

You will find that he is not alone in derailing these types of threads even in the basement.

Mike Rupperts’ work deserves better than it has received not only upstairs but down here in the basement.

    Success of Collapse

One thing I do know for certain is that I’ve been far more successful at getting people to understand the gravity of our predicaments, let alone even listen, by showing people “Collapse” than I have at trying to show them The Crash Course. Ask someone to watch a 82min documentary and your chances aren’t bad. Ask them to watch a 3.5 hour power point presentation and all you get are eye rolls. Honestly, nowadays I’m giving people “Collapse” first, and if they ‘get-it’, then I take the next step and show them The Crash Course.

Hi Ruhh,

I skip to the chase and tell people to watch chapter 15 “Bubbles”, and usually after that, they’re compelled enough to watch the rest. I think it’s the most crucial and it hits the message home. Good luck and don’t give up 🙂
