Chinese Whistleblower, Dr. Li-Meng Yan Finally Dropped the Bombshells

Thank you Dr. Mayer, you are indeed a breath of fresh air in a virus filled room.  If what Dr. Yan states is accurate and that our Covid-19 has the ZC45 as it’s “backbone” is there a way to reverse engineer the SarsCov2 using ZC45 as the backbone so as to show what other virus/sequences/inserts would be required to complete the phytogenic tree?   If so, do you think in light of Dr. Yan’s revelation, virologists will attempt to do this?  Again, thank you for your time.

In my professional opinion, I think she does not know what she is talking about. I appreciate everything that she is saying but have not heard her explain why she believes what she believes. She is making declarative statements but has not been in a scientific forum to explain her reasoning. She likely has no idea of the history of RaTG13 and is unaware of the 4991 genome discovered in 2013. So she likely thinks the WIV simply made it up to cover something up. But until she clarifies, we have no idea.

ZC45 is a strange virus and it would make sense for the PLA to use GoF on the virus, but that does not get us to hCoV-2019.

The reverse engineering will not work as we need to know what other viruses were related. For example, if you tell me ZC45 is the primary and pCoV-MP789 is the secondary virus, then we can work out exactly how the virus would be put together. The problem there is that RaTG13 fits like a glove when paired with pCoV-MP789 as opposed to ZC45. For clarification, I am not saying that RaTG13 has anything to do with hCoV-2019. If we took a similar bat virus in nature and mixed it (zoonosis) with a very specific virus SIMILAR to pCoV-MP789 then we would likely be around 100% for hCoV-2019.

If we take ZC45 on its own there are too many “functions” missing from the virus to tell us anything of merit in relation to hCoV-2019.

She made a lot of assertions but the science does not support her claims about the origin of the virus, in terms of ZC45. The part where we can agree is that ZC45 is very interesting and would have been heavily researched by the CCP.

Thank you for providing an in-depth analysis on the Zhoushan bat paper and your expert opinion on Dr. Li-Meng Yan’s assertions. It’s nice to have your voice here.
