Bill Moyers and Simon Johnson on economic recovery plan

Just watched a fascinating epsiode of Bill Moyers Journal (13feb2009 show, first part). He spoke with Simon Johnson about the economic recovery. They spoke of how we have an oligarchy, and that there is not the political will in the government to do the things we need to. It falls in neatly with Chris’ comments on how real movements must come from outside Washington. The show isn’t in the PBS archives as I write this, but check back and see it.

Thanks for adding the link and the note on the Frontline piece.

I know Bill was pretty hard on Bush policies and I’m sure he is accused of ‘Media LIberal Bias’, but it looks like he’s going to be just as tough on the new administration. I love/hate his show.  It’s like watching an accident. You don’t want to watch, but you have to. I hate seeing how bad our governemnt is, but I come out of it well informed, and (like after last night’s episode) it sometimes makes me write my Congressman.
