    Becoming self-sufficient with energy

I am a new member and very excited to find this team.  My question — is there a good summary or primer that will show interesting alternatives to becoming self-sufficient and producing your own energy?

Thanks!

    Negawatts

The easiest and cheapest way to become energy self-sufficient is "negawatts:" use much less!

That said, this is a broad and deep topic. Do you only plan to produce electricity? Do you need liquid fuel, as well? Are you absolutely hard core, and don't want to use any product that hasn't been made with your energy?

So you have to clarify your needs and intents before anyone can really help you.
