Back to reading text as free video hosting websites are being censored?
I wonder if Big Tech is secretly being subsidized, probably by large banks and hedge funds that agree to buy their shares at ridiculously high prices.
So, billions of dollars in equipment and high speed internet are needed to set a large free video hosting service.
Ad revenues don’t really help much to recover the multibiliion dollar investment.
So they might have been secretly subsidized to bankrupt competition, and build exclusive digital information and entertainment sources.
Then they got censored to suppress dissent.
So, we must settle to go back to reading plain text (with a few images here and there), as text websites are cheaper to host, thus affordable by those who value freedom of speech.
We are doomed then.
When I ask a typical person how much they read, I usually get confused looks.
It’s not true in a general sense that “free video hosting websites are being censored”, at all. The biggest one is. A few smaller ones (Vimeo) might. All the other ones (alt-tech) are growing rapidly.
Supposedly reading technique is changing as well – people scan rather than read today.

Hello. I agree that it takes billions of dollars in hardware and high-speed internet to build a great free video hosting service. Where do you get these three components? kvm ssd vps hosting seems fast and reliable, do you think so too? When the server is running like clockwork, no one remembers the support. But when things go wrong, support can be more important than good hardware.

I think some of that social change may be related to smartphone use.
For me a short email is 3 pages. I do not fit in well in with Twitter type limitations.
I observe that people watch lots of videos on their smartphones.
Typing on those things seems like torture to me.
