Australia – off label ivermectin prescriptions now banned

Australia’s FDA equivalent, the Therpeutic Goods Administration (TGA) released new guidelines on the 10th of September stating that doctors are now banned from prescribing Ivermectin for any off-label uses.

A couple of interesting points. Firstly, Chris says in the recent Lies and Deception video that he can’t understand why these government and media organizations would be lying so blatantly about Ivermectin (or something along those lines). I think this statement from the TGA gives us a clue.

Firstly, there are a number of significant public health risks associated with taking ivermectin in an attempt to prevent COVID-19 infection rather than getting vaccinated. Individuals who believe that they are protected from infection by taking ivermectin may choose not to get tested or to seek medical care if they experience symptoms. Doing so has the potential to spread the risk of COVID-19 infection throughout the community.

The entire focus of the Australian government and media is on coercing Australians to get the vaccines and ivermectin is obviously an impediment to this goal.

In this same vein, the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency released guidelines back in March that effectively told doctors that they would lose their registration if they said anything to patients that could be construed as “anti-vax”.

National Boards expect all health practitioners to use their professional judgement and the best available evidence in practice. This includes when providing information to the public about public health issues such as COVID-19 and vaccination. When advocating for community and population health, health practitioners must also use their expertise and influence to protect and advance the health and wellbeing of individuals as well as communities and broader populations.

Any promotion of anti-vaccination statements or health advice which contradicts the best available scientific evidence or seeks to actively undermine the national immunisation campaign (including via social media) is not supported by National Boards and may be in breach of the codes of conduct and subject to investigation and possible regulatory action.

But back to the TGA announcement, the second reason they give for this change is that:

…the doses of ivermectin that are being advocated for use in unreliable social media posts and other sources for COVID-19 are significantly higher than those approved and found safe for scabies or parasite treatment. These higher doses can be associated with serious adverse effects, including severe nausea, vomiting, dizziness, neurological effects such as dizziness, seizures and coma.

I was curious what the TGAs own publicly available ivermectin documentation said about ivermectin safety in pre-covid times and found this information for the legally available Merck drug Stromectol in a TGA Australian Public Assessment Report for Ivermectin:

Evaluator’s overall conclusions on clinical safety

The sponsors have only provided one new study (066) in 40 healthy subjects which showed good tolerability and no safety concerns at doses ranging from 30 to 120 mg, that is, up to 10 times the proposed dose of 200 μg/kg for treatment of scabies. The PSUR (providing safety data from April 2010 to April 2011) did not identify any new safety concerns for ivermectin.

The TGA’s officially recommended dose is 0.2mg/kg (twice or more depending on scabies severity), which I note is the same as the prophylactic dose recommended by the FLCC in their I-MASK protocol. Even the post-exposure dose of 0.4mg/kg is far below the tested safe range of up to 120mg. In my case 0.4mg/kg is going to be 30-40mg total. It is clear to me that the TGA is lying about the safety risks of Ivermectin in these guidelines for political reasons. If we actually had an honest journalist in Australia, maybe someone would ask them why.

Lastly, I found it interesting to note that the TGA uses as evidence of the danger of using Ivermectin, the fact that it’s use is “discouraged” by the FDA and WHO.

These changes have been introduced because of concerns with the prescribing of oral ivermectin for the claimed prevention or treatment of COVID-19. Ivermectin is not approved for use in COVID-19 in Australia or in other developed countries, and its use by the general public for COVID-19 is currently strongly discouraged by the National COVID Clinical Evidence Taskforce, the World Health Organisation and the US Food and Drug Administration.

We hear often in the media that people are “tired”. Usually in the context of “systemic racism”. I have to admit that I am TIRED of being unable to trust a single word spoken by the supposed experts who are in charge of “protecting” my health. I work and I have a family. I shouldn’t have to waste my time digging through publicly available drug assessments just to prove to myself and others that yes, once again, a government agency is lying to us and actively harming people as a result.

Thanks Jimmy, for going to the trouble of breaking down their so-called reasons for this decision. One really had to suspect this. All very circular or simply incoherent arguments and appeals to authority (other agencies equally subject to political and regulatory capture) with no actual evidence to be seen. As you say, most of us do not have the time to look up their lame, conflicted arguments. It makes much more sense to just presume that they are lying again, and what do you know, they are.

As you intimated, one of the reasons why the quality of public discussion in Australia is so low, is, let’s face it, abysmal, is that independent, impartial and informative medical advice is simply impossible to find. Everywhere medical doctors are being gagged. The following are all doctors from Australia’s most locked-down city, Melbourne:

What About The Children? The looming epidemic in our young. [youtube.com]

See especially, the 29 minute mark.

Better Than QandA #2 – 12 Feb 2021 [youtube.com]

See the 55 and the 2 hour and 24 minute marks.

Having heard these doctors speak, I am now in a better position to understand as to just why I had sort of given up on seeing any sensible discussion in Australia.  This is just another reason why I now feel that I have to get all my dietary requirements for reason from the United States.

HP.

If I can Devil’s advocate here for a bit…

There are experts at big orgs looking at the available evidence. There are dozens of studies, not agreeing, right? The experts don’t find the evidence for Ivermectin compelling. They don’t like people relying on it instead of vaccines which are known to be effective, so they hand down rules and position statements that professionals are bound to.

I’m happy to appeal to authority here. I certainly can’t entangle the evidence.

GPs are in a similar boat, even with their training. They aren’t researchers, and aren’t really equipped to detect when a study has bad design, incorrect analysis, etc.

Now if those big orgs are “captured” – that would be many orgs in many countries – then that’s a huge problem, and we don’t have much choice but to hope someone whistleblows.
