As government grows, wars increase and economy falters, morality non-existant, our republic is dying

The welfare state continues to expand. Consider the "new" housing rescue.  The original 105% LTV refi wasnt enough because too many borrowers are underwater at this point. What angers me about this is that Fannie/freddie owned mortgages (owned by all really) get refied while the rest of use get screwed. Not that im whining about a personal bailout, its complete BS that because you happen to have a GSE loan you get to have a nice refi. Not that the refi will do any good but its the principle of the matter. The financial industry ripoff bailout, the travesty of the GM, Chrysler bankruptices. The extravagent spending of the state. The governments tentacles grow and grow.

Ideally we need a civil war in this country, the socialists vs the free marketeers. Of course, the people that value personal responsibility, prudence, frugality, and humility are far outnumbered by the spoiled, reckless, arrogant, and irresponsible masses out there screaming for personal bailouts. Nevertheless, this is war ladies and gentlemen, and the future of our well being is at risk. Of course, there is no point in battling for a lost cause, becuase in order to have a free market economy it requires that you have citizens of strong moral character, independent persons who wish to have their lives based on their own skills, abilities, and decisions.

The present day scenario is playing out like the Galactic Republic’s fate in Star Wars III: revenge of the Sith. If you havent seen it please watch it. More and more the president attains greater powers. FDR was a foreshadowing of the future to come. Eventually, the "executive" will need more time to implement his "economic policies". Congressional deferment of authority to the executive will continue to grow. As the power of the executive grows, so will the restraint on his power be mitigated. As time goes on, as we all know from research (i.e. the crashcouse thanks CM) we see the economic future of the USA getting worse.

Conflicts will continue to occur as our adventures in the sands of Arabia and Asia slowly but surely turn into nightmares. Future terrorist attacks are but a certainty. What then? What happens when the next airliner gets taken down, or when the hospital or hotel or government building gets attacked? Use your understanding people, our enemies will strike again. Our enemies have grown in numbers. Simply consider the case of the Sunni militias in Iraq. We funded them, armed them, they basically wiped out Al Qaida in Iraq. Now with Shia control of Iraq the Sunni purge has already begun. Surely, some of these "sons of Iraq" will seek retribution against the US. The point is that our enemies will continue to grow larger in numbers as will their hatred of us continue to rage as more and more bombs kill their people. What happens when they strike again, considering the power of the executive!!! What new regulations, laws, and military acts will pass? With the executive having gained so much control over the economy, over the legislature, over the judicial branch, this trend will continue until the republic we have loved and lived in for so long will be sent to the pages of history.

And not only from a military perspective, but what about from a economic perspective. Considering how much our government lies to its own people with flawed and blatantly fraudulent data such as CPI, unemployment, job loss data, etc etc, what happens when our foreign creditors turn their backs. What kind of lies will the US gov tell us then? Will they claim that foreigners are destabilizing our economy? Will they call them currency manipulators when dollar dumping and shorting happens en masse? This is already guaranteed. The US data is so irretreivably flawed now i could only imagine what happens when the bond and currency markets turn against the dollar. The gov isnt being honest now with things being pretty bad, imagine when things get really bad.

With every war, with every economic crisis, the government will grow stronger, with the executive monster head becoming bigger and bigger. The trend is in place my good friends. Prepare for dictatorial powers for the executive. It could be 10 years from now, 20, maybe even sooner. But with the independence of the citizens of this country so weak, government is bound to grow. Eventually, the behemoth known as government will become so large, so consuming, so draining on this country that it will collapse, just as all the other dictatorships failed in the past. Maybe then, and only then, will this country recover.

 No morality

People accept the lies, government tells the lies. The military engages in war, the people accept the war. Over 900 military bases dot the nations of the world. We spend 900 billion a year just to feed the machine. Corruption is endemmic. Lies prevail while truth is mocked and scoffed at. Our entertainers shave their heads, have orgies, are so heavily intoxicated on drugs, do plastic surgery until they look like dolls, they are as children with no restraint. This country eats so much that the number one cause of death is heart disease. We eat poison like it is fruit from the amazon. Personal responsibility is never mentioned and not enforced by the elite. Remember, that the people need wise and good leaders. When the leadership is so hideously corrupt, the trickle down effect it has on the masses multiplies. Basically, the people do not have a proper example to follow anymore (i follow christ!! Amen).

Chris Martenson, you are a leader in this time of darkness. You have worked hard to spread some truth in this time when the fog of lies permeates every medium of information. Ron Paul, you are a leader in this time of darkness, as you basically risk your life but putting the financial and politcal juggernauts on the spotlight. Peter Schiff, Jimmy Rogers, Gerald Celente and many more leaders out there fight for some the truth. All of us here fight for the truth. More and more i become silent about the present reality as people not only dont want to hear my freedom BS, but they also become angry as well. Eventually we will be silenced by decree, by fiat of the executive. Just wait for it people.

This is what i see and read about everyday.

I concur in certain aspects, ballsy post considering the situation on another thread not in controversial topics, but in general discussion. Misinformation (I won’t say lies, because I don’t know that they are lies for a fact, but they are half truths) is rife, and people eat it up, like McDonalds, their choice. Why do you think I’m bugging out to a place that’s completely unincorporated, so that I can minimize the impact of Federal involvement, and if they come looking for me I can be prepared, just in case. I believe in the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, I think they’re a great starting point, and to me they are just be things that I do naturally anyway, say what you want, believe what you want, worship whatever god(s) work for you, protect your self how you like, you’re not sleeping in my house, you’re not taking my stuff, I won’t incriminate myself if you have a case it should stand on its own merit, I want a lawyer (because in this country I don’t know all 60,000 pages of the Tax Code), I want to be tried by my peers in a timely fashion, and the rest are not applicable to me as an individual.

Civil War though is not currently the best thing, it’s what the banksters and Government want, to extend into additional grasping powers of the Federal Government. Unfortunately the Sheeple don’t care about lost liberty only safety, and fail to see that the trade they’re making is safety from an unknown source to danger from a known source.

Morality is in the eye of the beholder, I have very strong morals, and its simple, the moral of personal responsibility, it’s the occasional redeeming feature of our race. Likely you have this moral to, to a degree, I expect no assistance for personal stupidity, I give no assistance to those who show stupidity. I also do not believe in the sanctity of human life, we all die, there is no sanctity in the period after birth and before death, only life. I’ve often been described as hard and unyielding, maybe I am, or maybe I’ve seen the world through a different lens, that has colored the nature of my view. I’m probably not a very nice person, but you can take me or leave me, your choice, normally I’m less direct in my responses on this site, but for some reason today I’m just letting it all hang out.

However personal responsibility is something you have, it cannot be enforced, in my ideal world there is no need for codified laws, since should someone transgress against me, they willingly take responsibility for any action I choose to take to correct that transgression, and I accept the same. I also do not judge how others choose to live their lives, since it’s theirs to do with as they will, if that means that they spend that in an intoxicated haze from whatever substance they choose that’s their affair, but it is not an excuse to eliminate that personal responsibility, nor in my ideal would it alter my correction for any trangressions that they made during that period of intoxication.

IMHO the problem you’re describing is that the majority of the population is soft, they have had it easy, they don’t live in the world as it exists, but an MTV, and Hollywood fueled fantasy where they’re all going to wind up being the next big star, and while they wait slowly dawning that it will never happen they’re easing the pain of that by consumption, of most of what you discuss.

Personal responsibility. This is what it really is about. The word that no one ever utters. With regards to sanctity of human life you are right. What matters most is what we do in life. What happens after this life ends is where we differ but that is irrelevant. As long as you are cool and show personal responsibility for yourself and your actions, not only can i be your neighbor, i can be your friend. The main reason why I do believe in the afterlife is for the judgment. I have this hope that one day, God will punish those reponsible for all their crimes. The arrogant [farts] on wall street that laugh on their way to the bahamas. The armchair commanders that blow up man woman and child day and night in far away countries that pose no threat to us. The foolish academic that thinks he can dictate our lives but in the process is responsible for debasing our currency, the representation of our hard work, just so that PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY of a few elite will not be dealt with. Oh, it may not be dealt with in this life, but it will in the next. This is why i believe, because i want to see justice being distributed by he who can distribute. To see those responsible for this not getting away with theft on the basis of a accounting trick. Their day will come…

Fact is, if we’re all open, honest and responsible then people get along. It’s when we’re closed, dishonest and irresponsible we don’t. Indeed if you lived up to my expectation of personal responsibility we likely would be friends

Strange how being the first three seems to be so difficult, and at times society actively tries to prevent them, and the last three can be so easy.

Wow! There are others out there who remember that word: "responsibility". I was afraid that it was fast becoming an anachronism. There have even been times that I thought I would be the only human left on the planet who knew what it meant!

Fact is, if we’re all open, honest and responsible then people get along.

Such a simple concept. Then why do people so often close their eyes to this? Another enigma wrapped inside a conundrum.
