A message for Chris and the investors

Well this thread has morphed from demands to tributes, which is a sad indication of the direction this site is rapidly going. I only joined some months ago but if Chris is not allowed to speak in total freedom then I am out of here. Perhaps metaphorically cutting off the head of this truth-speaking endeavour was The Great Plan all along, on the theory of without Chris, it would collapse? No, we will just scatter and seed like little acorns.

There is such evil in the world today. Native Americans call it the wetiko mind virus (see Paul Levy). Is the human race becoming ever more sociopathic? Sociopaths worship greed and power but they are ultimately motivated by fear. And fearful people are weak people. I do not accept that ethics and morals are just for naive idiots. That’s what the dark side would have us believe. I have had the privilege of interacting with some astonishingly ethical beings of the Light, and the last thing they are is weak. It is the dark side that is ultimately afraid of the Light.

Best wishes to everyone here and if this site does not survive, we will meet again.

Elvis has left the building or who is John Galt?

Maybe it was time to cash-out.

Considering the state of the world … afterall, Atlas has already shrugged as evidenced by the deteriorating state of infrastructure, society and the economy.

The best people have already removed themselves from the public eye and moved on to a more resilient lifestyle.  Chris may already be cloistered away with John Galt.  Those of us who stayed will have to wallow in the mire yet to come.

Bringing in new investors often means selling out ones shares (and control).

The path is long and narrow my friends.  Plenty of room for those brave enough to walk it.  But few really do.

Let’s wish Chris the best and see if we can’t get ourselves positioned into a more resilient lifestyle for the coming crises.  (yes, thats plural for crisis).

Where should we put our stimulus money, gold, silver or bitcoin?

Me thinks it will be bitcoin …

HODL the stimmy.

A lot of good thoughts in this thread.

As many others here, I’m very thankful to Chris and Adam for the incredible work in the past many years. Very few other “voices” had as much influence in my life.

I hope things will work out, but the longer it takes, the more I fear something broke beyond repair. My subscription renews in 4 weeks. If there is no clarity about the future of PP, I will not renew. I’d rather send a check straight to Chris and Adam than supporting some shadow cabal of investors.

Hopefully, they understand that their “investment” (whatever it was) is sunk should Chris leave. I’m pretty sure Chris will start something new if that were to happen. Sometimes, change is hard, but good.

If the problem here is with the new partners, it has been my experience with partners that problems rarely get better. Maybe they can be patched over for a little while, but then the problems will reemerge. Life is too short for this. Integrity is too important. The new investors need to go or Chris and Adam need to pull the plug. The good ship PP is burning and the fire is much too close to the magazine. It looks like a lot of us are bracing for the explosion. Really, really sad. Chris has been the anchor to windward for many of us in this last year particularly, and I don’t have the words to properly thank him.

I doubt Chris will return. When he disappeared, I searched around found several other Covid19 websites that provide lots of info. so I don’t come on this site much anymore. I value what Chris and Adam have to say but I think this site will close. It’s odd to take on new investors and accept their money and have this occur.

Money and integrity don’t mix.

No offence, but in my opinion Chris and Adam should have known this before bringing in these new investors.

People have to earn a living. True. That’s why I took a payed subscription. Why isn’t that enough? How come that always, everything MUST grow? Why is it that the appeal of money is so strong that everything will always grow to a point where it will burst or break. Even Peak Prosperity where one of the central believes is that perpetual growth always will lead to collapse.

I feel sad and disappointed. I sincerely hope that I am wrong. I sincerely hope that welcoming these new investors had other ends in mind than just making money and cash in.

I read Prosper after many years of following Chris on Youtube. That is the main reason why I joined. I always thought: wow, these guys really mean what they say.

Now it seems to me it was just a business all along.

Please tell me I am wrong.

What if you can’t refuse the investment?

What if you can’t refuse the investment?

Then you compromise your integrity.  Just to review:

  1. firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : INCORRUPTIBILITY
  2. an unimpaired condition : SOUNDNESS
  3. the quality or state of being complete or undivided : COMPLETENESS

Sure, you compromise integrity.

However, if you really want to go dark, don’t each of us have something that would “encourage” us to compromise our integrity.

“I would hate for something to happen to your wife.”

“Sorry your car caught on fire, is your homeowner’s insurance paid up?”

I’m certainly not implying that those circumstances are at work here. However, to think that those kind of things don’t happen and that any of us are above compromising our integrity in the face of a threat is unrealistic.
