In association with Transition Towns of Western Massachusetts, with an appearance by Sophy Banks and Naresh Girangrande of Transition Network.

In a talk recently presented to the United Nations and UK House of Parliament, Chris Martenson, Montague resident and author of the popular Crash Course video series will explore the intersection of the 3E’s – the economy, energy, and environment—and present a compelling, rigorously researched case for why the next 20 years will be completely unlike the last.

If you have been wondering how the BP oil disaster, European credit crisis, and recent stock-market volatility are all connected, this talk is for you.

Presented in association with Transition Towns of Western Massachusetts.  Join us for this exciting event to understand why relocalizing, reskilling, and reuniting with our community in the Valley is more important than ever!

Very cool!  Amanda, do you have any more info/insight into how long Chris's talk will be, and what the forum will be like?  E.g., will it be a 1 hour talk/presentation, followed by a question session for 1/2 hour? Or maybe some other  format?

Thanks,

pinecarr

Planning on attending.  Is there a need and/or a way to register in advance?

Thanks,

Dean

Re: Chris LIVE in Northampton, MA - The Crash Course: ...

I attended Chris LIVE in Northampton last night and enjoyed it thoroughly.  The presentation was a great mix of Crash Course essentials, supporting material, humor and Q&A.  There were about (SWAG) 300 people there, and most of them were at least familiar with the Crash Course.  I believe there were some Martenson Brigade members there also, but they were plain clothed and not wearing ear pieces.  I didn’t see even one crazed Glock-carrying-bunker-building person.  If this is the fringe, I like it here. I left feeling more relaxed than I arrived, and was able to make some connections with new people and others I hadn’t seen for years.  It was nice to speak to Chris briefly at the end.  Both he and Becca are very approachable and believable.

Another highlight of the evening was to see and meet two people from Totness (in Devon, England) where the first Transition Town started.  Chris Martenson and the Transition Movement seem to be closely aligned and help to reinforce each other’s message.  In my town of Sudbury, MA we have begun the initial steps of becoming a Transition Town.

Anyway, if you haven’t already, I would suggest you see one of Chris’s presentations.
