Tomatoes from seeds the easy way

saw this apparently easy method on the web (with apologies if it is well-known to you - i'm a comparative newbie to gardening).

Timing is everything

There's two problems with this tecnique:

  1. If the tomato is a hybrid, the resulting plants will be a crapshoot — certainly not like the original, and possibly sickly or maladapted (lacks "hybrid vigour").
  2. Unless you're planning to grow them indoors, you need to time this so the new plants will grow out in the summer.

But other than that, hey, knock yourself out!
