Raised beds for ease of gardening

Small raised garden bed

If you're an older gardener or mobility impaired, there are all sorts of raised bed options for you, so you won't have to give up gardening due to your age or condition. (Note also that a lot of these options will work for rooftop gardens, and apartment terraces.)

Here is a larger, U-shaped bed.

Note that the optional fence around this one makes it deer-proof. It's cedar so it won't rot.

Feed troughs are steel that may eventually rust but will not rot, and they make great raised beds, too:

Just about anything that can handle the weight of soil and water can be a raised bed:

...including a bed frame.

Less ambitious but still great ideas:

Store-bought...

...or homemade

or really rough and easy!

I've even seen them in birdbaths.

P.S., Here are some of my new raised beds, producing beautifully.

Raised beds

Great review of raised beds, Wendy!  Your project is looking good, too.
