Waterbricks are a great solution to storing water for emergency situations and resiliency building.  They are sturdy airtight BPA free containers that can be used for large quantity water storage or any other long term food storage item (grains, beans, pasta).

Here are just a few of the features that make them a recommended option for water storage.

Portable: Easy to Carry and Secure in Cars, Boats or ATV's

  • 30% Less Carry Weight: The 3.5 gallon container filled with water weighs 30 pounds; 30% less carry weight than a standard 5 gallon container.
  • Comfortable Easy Grip Carrying Handle: Helps distribute the weight on your hand.
  • Easy to Secure in Transit: Cross stack to secure in a car or boat or tie down easily with a bungee cord through the designed column hole in the container.

Stackable: Securely Stacks or Grab

  • Better than Other Containers: Cross stacks and interlocks up to 4 feet high. Other containers on the market claim to be stackable but many stores will tell you they are not safe as they can easily be knocked over and they can not stack more than 2 containers high.
  • Better than Other Bulk Storage Drums or Tanks: WaterBricks stack like bulk storage but are individually easy to move for Grab & Go taking your water where you need it. Compare WaterBrick to typical filled 55 gallon drums or tanks that are impossible to move or take with you if you are forced to leave your home during an emergency.

Customizable: To Maximize Limited Storage Space

  • Stack & Store Any Where, Any How You Need: Perfect for small spaces or for those that want to keep their water containers discrete; put them where other containers, drums and tanks can not, or use them to make space you did not have before.

Specifically, PrepareDirect is offering us:

  • A 5% discount on all Waterbrick Containers
  • Free shipping on orders over $99.00

water bricks feedback

I have had these for years. Although I applaud the work of the developer's humanitarian efforts, though I did write him with concerns about the discoloration of the inner lid seals. When stored in horizontal position, over time they developed grayish markings that did not clean off easily. I sent some back and he had them analyzed and was told it was 'biofilm' (whatever that means). I cannot confirm, but my guess is the lid liners have some sort of antibacterial agents imbedded in them. These containers are made by Dow Chemical, so that would not be surprising. I admit to little confidence in this large chemical producer.

The question is - how safe are these lid inserts given they probably leach into the water over time? I would rather use my own GSE (Grape seed extract) added to the water as a natural antibacterial. More info would be helpful. In the meantime when using these water bricks, although it reduces their functionality, I suggest storing your water in the upright position so the water is not in direct contact with the lid seal.
