Economy

The Rules Have Changed (jdargis)

Within the Left’s dominant pro-Remain elements, the shock has quickly turned to dystopian visions of impending fascism and angry denunciations of backward, racist, and frighteningly non-cosmopolitan older working-class voters who have “stolen” the future of the country’s youth (who were strongly pro-Remain yet turned out in low numbers).

After ‘Brexit,’ Finding a New London for the Financial World to Call Home (jdargis)

One executive in charge of relocation (who like the others, spoke only on condition of anonymity because of the political sensitivity of the issue) said the percentage of employees in his firm who might be required to move ranged from 10 percent to 40 percent. “Multiply that throughout the industry and it’s tens of thousands of people and their families,” he said. “And bear in mind that most of these people are millionaires.”

Shooter strikes 3 in South Carolina nightclub, stopped by concealed carrier (Arthur Robey)

He struck three victims, almost wounded a fourth, who drew his own weapon in self-defense and neutralized Thompson with a single shot to the leg.

The injured were taken for treatment at the hospital with no life threatening injuries.

5 Confirmed False Flag Operations and How to Spot Them in the Future (Ivo M.)

The false flag phenomenon is distinctively modern and used as an ideological weapon to control populations with the fear of a manufactured enemy. They are used in ostensibly democratic systems where people believe they have inalienable rights. Such democratic systems—primarily the United States, Israel, and Great Britain—must shock people into sociopolitical and geopolitical consent and, as such, require sophisticated modern propaganda systems and advanced covert operations teams with highly proficient skills.

Election 2016: Does Australia even need a government? (Arthur Robey)

The cry has gone up. A former minister in the Turnbull government, Jamie Briggs, who lost his seat on Saturday, says that "my fear is the country is ungovernable". The chief executive of Harvey Norman, Gerry Harvey, used the same word, "ungovernable".

Two suspects in Istanbul attack identified as Russian: Turkish media (jdargis)

He was arrested in Bulgaria five years ago on a Russian extradition request but freed because he had refugee status in Austria, a Bulgarian judge said. A year later he was wounded and captured in Georgia but again released.

California Issues Subpoenas To Oil And Gas Companies In Price-Fixing Probe (Josh O.)

California is located on the coast and is reached by few pipelines. Additionally, in February of last year, an explosion at the ExxonMobil plant in Torrance caused damage to a gasoline producing unit that produced approximately 10 percent of the state’s gas supply. However, during that time, refineries in California recorded net incomes, while gas prices fell elsewhere in the nation.

Everything You Need To Know About The Great Barrier Reef This Election (jdargis)

Facing criticism for not taking the threat to the reef seriously, the government then announced a ~ $1 billion ~ package for the reef. That money would be spread over 10 years, and again, it would also come from other environmental programs - in this case, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, which the government has twice tried to shut down.

The money will be spent on initiatives to fix water quality, like preventing runoff from agricultural land, which does heaps of damage to the reef. What scientists really want is an end to coal mining in Australia, but don’t hold your breath for that.

I'm certain no government for

I'm certain no government for a while can only help you there Arthur.  I know that when our French teacher took sick before my Leaving Certificate Exam, I felt free to actually learn rather than doing his silly homework!  Some might object there's no connection between the above but anyhow you and I know that when an individual in Europe leans against a wall an individual in Australia gets an urge to lean against a wall there.

Seriously, for letting me know that the ether exists, like I always wanted it too, and for the Space Based Economy video ( Jeeezee)
