Millennial to Millionaire: Stop Blaming Avocado Toast for Why We’re Not Buying Houses (jdargis)

He continues, “The people that own homes today worked very, very hard for it, saved every dollar, did everything they could to get up the property investment ladder,” conveniently failing to mention the housing bubble and subsequent crash that occurred in the last decade due to poorly regulated banks that approved mortgages for millions of people who they knew could not afford to pay them back. For Gurner, it’s easier to blame rampant spending on avocados and lattes for today’s low home ownership rates than on post-recession regulation of predatory lending practices that have prevented banks from handing out mortgages like candy.

Trump confirms he shared intel with Russia’s foreign minister (jdargis)

Statements from President Trump on Twitter and from White House National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster did not directly contradict details initially reported by the Washington Post late on Monday. McMaster said that no sources or methods were exposed in the conversation. However, the unnamed officials cited in the Post report were concerned that Trump's citing of the exact location "in the Islamic State’s territory where the US intelligence partner detected the threat" could expose the source.

Selected Articles: The North Korea Nuclear Issue (yogmonster)

As we detailed earlier, on the eve of a summit in Beijing, and just hours after Pyongyang’s chief nuclear negotiator said North Korea is ready to hold talks with the United States “if the conditions are mature”, South Korea’s Yonhap reports that North Korea has fired a projectile believed to be a ballistic missile, from a region named Kusong located northwest of Pyongyang, where the North previously test-launched its intermediate-range missile.

PAPER vs. PHYSICAL: The Amazing Amount Of Leverage In The Silver Market (yogmonster)

Even when the silver price reached a high of $49 in 2011, total global silver investment was only $6.6 billion. Looking over the market in the past six years, the total $32 billion of silver investment from 2011 to 2016 is nothing when we compare it to the staggering amount of Central Bank asset purchases. According to a recent Zerohedge article, Why “Nothing Matters”: Central Banks Have Bought A Record $1 Trillion In Assets In 2017.

Everything Bubble: Code Red (yogmonster)

This urgent, 35-minute presentation from Mike Maloney is a must watch. You'll see overwhelming evidence that stocks, bonds, and real estate could be in biggest bubbles of all time.

Congress Is Coming After Your 401(k) (Tiffany D.)

The new proposal would treat all 401(k) and traditional IRA contributions as if they were Roth IRA contributions. You’d lose the tax exclusion of those contributions, but your future 401(k)/IRA earnings and appreciation would be tax-free. Some think this could raise $1.5 trillion in additional tax revenue over the next decade, making the corporate tax slash feasible.

Anti-net neutrality spammers are flooding FCC's pages with fake comments (jdargis)

Since then, the FCC's public comments system has been flooded with a barrage of comments -- well over half-a-million responses at the time of writing -- in part thanks to comedian John Oliver, who raised the issue on his weekly show on Sunday. He asked Americans to leave comments in favor of keeping the rules. The FCC later said that it was hit by "multiple" cyberattacks shortly after the show aired designed to "bombard the FCC's comment system with a high amount of traffic to our commercial cloud host." The FCC, however, offered no evidence of the attacks, with at least one pro-net neutrality group expressing skepticism of the FCC's claims.

Artificial Intelligence Is Crucial For The Energy Industry (Michael K.)

Currently, there is no industry standard for the integration of producer-consumers’ energy storage into the greater grid, creating a massive opportunity for innovation that will have global consequences. Many areas employ several different strategies to fill the gaps in renewal energy supplies. For example, for brief gaps in generation, the UK’s National Grid turns to conventional power stations. For longer gaps, some power stations are kept on standby, a costly strategy that continues contributing the carbon emissions that the country is trying to combat.

How a Melting Arctic Changes Everything Part II: The Political Arctic (jdargis)

More than 4 million people live north of Earth's Arctic Circle, nearly half of them in Russia and the rest scattered among the seven other northernmost countries—the U.S., Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. About 500,000 people live among one of dozens of indigenous nations whose ancestry and bonds extend beyond modern borders. Over the most recent generation, many of these communities have banded together into large regional organizations that promote their interests among the international community.

The "Russia hacked the election" meme falters

Two additional write-ups of the murder of Seth Rich are posted today, each with a bit more information.

Murdered DNC Staffer Seth Rich Shared 44,053 Democrat Emails With WikiLeaks: Report

For the past several months ... Day after day we've all suffered through one anonymously sourced, "shock" story after another from the New York Times and/or The Washington Post with new allegations of the 'wrongdoing'.

But, new evidence surfacing in the Seth Rich murder investigation may just quash the "Russian hacking" conspiracy theory.  According to a new report from Fox News, it was former DNC staffer Seth Rich who supplied 44,000 DNC emails to WikiLeaks and not some random Russian cyber terrorist, as we've all been led to believe.

According to Fox News, though admittedly via yet another anonymous FBI source, Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, an American investigative reporter and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time.  According to Fox News sources, federal law enforcement investigators found 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments sent between DNC leaders from January 2015 to May 2016 that Rich shared with WikiLeaks before he was gunned down on July 10, 2016.

A federal investigator who reviewed an FBI forensic report detailing the contents of DNC staffer Seth Rich’s computer generated within 96 hours after his murder, said Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, a now-deceased American investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker, and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time.

“I have seen and read the emails between Seth Rich and Wikileaks,” the federal investigator told Fox News, confirming the MacFadyen connection. He said the emails are in possession of the FBI, while the stalled case is in the hands of the Washington Police Department.

Then, on July 22, just 12 days after Rich was killed, WikiLeaks published internal DNC emails that appeared to show top party officials conspiring to stop Bernie Sanders  from becoming the party’s presidential nominee. As we've noted before, the DNC's efforts to block Sanders resulted in Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigning as DNC chairperson. ...

As you'll recall, Rich's death has been shrouded in mystery from the start as he was reportedly shot from behind in the wee hours of the morning but was not robbed of the nearly $2,000 worth of cash and jewelry on his body at the time.

Rich had been at Lou’s City Bar a couple of miles from his home until about 1:15 a.m. He walked home, calling several people along the way. He called his father, Joel Rich, who he missed because he had gone to
sleep. He talked with a fraternity brother and his girlfriend, Kelsey Mulka.

Around 4:17 a.m., Rich was about a block from his home when Mulka, still on the phone with him, heard voices in the background. Rich reassured her that he was steps away from being at his front door and hung up.

Two minutes later, Rich was shot twice. Police were on the scene within three minutes. Rich sustained bruising on his hands and face. He remained conscious, but died at a nearby hospital less than two hours later.

Shortly thereafter, Julian Assange implied that Seth Rich was, in fact, a source for WikiLeaks and offered a $130,000 reward for information leading to his killer.

Murdered DNC Staffer Seth Rich Was In Contact With Wikileaks Says Former DC Homicide Detective

How Wikileaks changed the course of history ...

The results of the online efforts were staggering, as the world witnessed revelations of “Pay for Play” by Clinton Foundation donors who funded ISIS, the DNC cheating against Bernie Sanders, MSM collusion with the Clinton campaign, Hillary’s dreams of open borders, “unaware and compliant” citizens, #SpiritCooking, Wet Works, and evidence of Aliens and Zero Point Energy – (either that or a completely insane Edgar Mitchell (15052)).

Back to detective Wheeler and Seth Rich

If Seth Rich was in fact one of Wikileaks' sources, it's far less of a stretch to conclude that he was murdered. Moreover, what's left of the Russian hacking narrative is now - in my opinion, moot. More to come Tuesday, when this could get even more interesting.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."-  Joseph Goebbels Head of Nazi Propaganda

MSM sticking to the story

This from the Bloomberg Arctic story in today's DD: "Putin is playing two hands at once. He’s the unpredictable international leader who annexed Crimea, is reinvesting in northern security as if the Cold War were coming back, and sits atop a government that meddled in the 2016 U.S. election."

On Seth Rich and fake news

It was not lost on me that the mainstream media came out with articles about why Seth Rich should be ignored.

I posted the Seth Rich article back almost a week ago, but noted that the MSM was calling it fake news. I said that a lot of people, myself included, felt the MSM anti-Seth-Rich article was fake news.

A Hillary proponent friend of mine asked, what specifically about the article made me think it was fake news. I answered, and got silence on the other side. (I interpret silence as 'thinking...') Therefore, I suspect my answer was pretty good.

Here's what I said:
"The point of the Washington Post article is to discredit without solid evidence, and to stop further investigation, as opposed to investigate. Journalism, when not fake news, is supposed to investigate and report as honestly as possible. So this is antijournalism masquerading as journalism. Thus, fake news."

Seth Rich story BS

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/one-last-time-that-seth-rich-story-is-...

Relying on sources like ZH, Drudge, Breitbart, Fox News and an anonymous source is dangerous.  None of these are reliable sources, even compared to the msm.  Everyone with any credibility says the conspiracy theory is bunk.

Quote:
The story that circulated this week about Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee staffer who was murdered near his home in Washington, D.C., last year, has fallen apart entirely, leaving nothing but the most faithful conspiracy theorists clinging to a single FoxNews.com anonymous source.

Quote:
Wheeler, who was dismissed from the DC Metropolitan Police Department in 1995, has since recanted his story.

"I only got that [information] from the reporter at Fox News," Wheeler told CNN.

He later told BuzzFeed that he was taken out of context by Fox reporters.

"That story on Fox 5 last night was inaccurate," Wheeler said. "I don't even know where the computers are."

Quote:
However, FBI officials have responded since by telling both Newsweek and NBC News that the bureau is not involved in the Rich case.

And there's one last piece of busted up nonsense in this lousy story.

Wheeler had been recommended to Rich's family by financial adviser and Fox News contributor Ed Butowsky. On Tuesday, the conservative businessman and occasional Breitbart News contributor outright lied about his involvement in Wheeler's investigation.

"I'm not involved with any of what you said," he told NBC. "This can't possibly go well. I didn't pay anybody. I didn't hire anybody."

His involvement in this news cycle was revealed by Rich family spokesman Brad Bauman, whose body of work includes consultation services to Democratic candidates.

Butowsky admitted later to CNN that he was indeed involved in setting up the Rich's with Wheeler.

Quote:
Where does this leave us? A detective who has recanted his story, a conservative benefactor who has been caught in a boldfaced lie and FBI officials who deny their agency has been involved in any way in the Rich case, contrary to what was initially reported. Also, the Rich family is furious about the reports this week.

Basically, all we're left with is FoxNews.com's anonymous source and his awfully specific figures about the number of emails Rich supposedly shared with WikiLeaks.

If that's not enough, and you think this story still has real legs, well...

Seth Rich Killer's Motive?

Whatever is written one still to ask about the motive?   Not robbery.   Love spat?  Easy to check out.   Something more opaque?   Check.   Who?   Did Seth leak the Podesta emails?   If so, look at political revenge.

More wierdness about Seth Rich

A person posts on reddit claiming to be a surgery resident on rotation the night Seth Rich was brought in.  He reports that he was taken to the OR in stable condition, transfused post-operatively, then had strange VIP with no visitors treatment afterwards.  Hi death was unexpected as he had no vascular injuries and was stable intra-operatively.  No "code" was performed after his death.

I have no information about this guy or his report.  His vocabulary is typical of a surgeon or very experienced medical person.  The time of death is given here as the morning after which does not match with the newspaper accounts of him dying shortly after arrival.  Here is the post.

Surgery Resident tells story about Seth Rich

Here is the thread link mentioned above for those interested in where it came from.

http://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/125912863/4th-year-surgery-resident-h...

-------------------

I also want to admit the limitations of the ZH post I put up yesterday that linked Seth Rich to Gavin MacFayden based on "unnamed sources within the FBI."  Perhaps an indicator, but certainly not proof as it cannot be confirmed.  And, Gavin MacFayden has died now, and cannot tell us his story.

A more accurate title ...

Rather than

"Surgery Resident tells story about Seth Rich"

... a more accurate title would be

"Poster who claims to be Surgery Resident tells story about Seth Rich"
