Daily Digest 1/21 - Women March On Washington, What To Expect From An Unexpected Presidency

Live Coverage of the Women's March on Washington (jdargis)

Nanette Nilssen, 61, and Sue Kvendru, 56, just got off a 17-hour bus ride from Minnesota. They've been planning for the march for weeks, attending regular meetings to make signs and coordinate. Nilssen, who supported Hillary Clinton, felt motivated to come because of her work. "I march for children because they need the [Affordable Care Act], they need a decent education. I've spent 25 years as a day-care provider," she said. Kvendru jumped in: "This is just the start."

All the Anger in America Has Come to Washington, D.C. (jdargis)

Soon, a young black man came over to her and offered a conciliatory word. “There’s people out there who would divide everyone,” he said. “We’re all Americans. We may not have the same views …” She nodded and said plaintively, “The hate, we don’t need it!” For a moment she looked shaken, and I realized how frightening the scene must look to her, smoke rising in the street and protesters marching around with black masks and goggles. I don’t know why, but I tried to convince her that people were angry and scared for a reason, that it wasn’t all just a tantrum. Everything I said about Trump, she replied, “That’s what we thought about Obama, and we got through it.” And all I could do was sputter, “But the things you thought weren’t true!” We don’t live in the same world. It’s too bad we have to live in the same country.

Donald Trump takes oath of office—what to expect from an unexpected presidency (jdargis)

"The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of action," Trump said after he was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts. Moments later, Trump added: "We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow. A new national pride will stir ourselves, lift our sights and heal our divisions."

Donald Trump era begins with Obamacare rollback and missile defence plan (jdargis)

Using a similar order, the new president also signed into law a new national day of patriotism, and in a separate statement on the White House website, said he intends to develop a “state of the art” missile defense system to protect against attacks from Iran and North Korea. It did not say whether the system would differ from those already under development, specify the cost or say how it would be financed.

Marine Le Pen hails patriotism as the policy of the future (jdargis)

"Yesterday, a new America. Today... a new Europe!'' Mr Wilders, the leader of the anti-immigration Freedom Party (PVV), said while opening the meeting under heavy security in the central German city of Koblenz.

Activism That Actually Works (jdargis)

In short: It’s best to call. But first, do your research. Call the rep who can actually do something about your federal, state, or local issue. Once you’re on the line, you might reach a staffer, like I used to be, or a voicemail inbox. Either way, try to make your point in about a minute.

California Utilities Want $1 Billion to Promote Electric Cars (jdargis)

California is moving forward with plans to cut greenhouse-gas emissions and fight global warming, despite President Donald Trump’s promises to kill similar efforts on the federal level. On Friday, about an hour after Trump took office, the state’s air regulators released a plan to cut emissions to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030.

On the climate change frontline: the disappearing fishing villages of Bangladesh (jdargis)

UN scientists predict some of the worst impacts of climate change will occur in south-east Asia, and that more than 25 million people in Bangladesh will be at risk from sea level rise by 2050. It is well known that many of the countries most vulnerable to climate change are among those who contribute to it the least, and here that’s certainly true. The carbon footprint of Kutubdia’s 100,000 islanders is small – most do not even have access to a regular electricity supply. But they fear that for them, time is already running out.

Who picks these articles ?

Slate article, realy ? this is the economic news feed, I dont come here to read nonsense like this article, I could already g straight to Slate and do that -- this was SO partisan and biased !

There are a variety of political views here, what unites us is the vision to make changes to help get thru a constricting energy/economy

Most links here today are divisive

exactly right.

the peak prosperity news digest has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse lately, with more articles drawn from slanted fake news sites like slate, bloomberg, etc.

i don't know what changed, but it's not good.

We've been tricked into Ego-Fear mode again

Though I do not agree with precisely everything in this article by Vera Ingeborg, I most definitely agree with the spirit in which it was written.

Politics ~ Tricked into Fear Again, The Last Attempt to Keep Humanity Under Control (Vera Ingeborg)

Salient highlights:

Quote:

Today, Donald Trump is inaugurated as President of the United States. And oh boy, how much fuss is going on around it. People are freaking out, are scared, are grieving for the old and do not know what to expect on the one side. On the other side, people are making fun, are mischievous and are celebrating their Donald like a Rock Star. Even the spiritual community is completely shaken up and divided by it – many have entered this rally. So who is right?

Neither! From an energetic perspective the human collective is playing the good old ping pong game on a low frequency level of fear. Once again, the global elite or the cabal or....whatever you want to call them, is managing very well to keep everyone in fear frequencies to keep the situation under control. People on both sides are upset, angry, and full of judgment and blame. The mass media is spreading fear-causing news and leaves no opportunity out to pillory Trump. Hillary supporters are spreading the message, calling to boycott Trump and fight against the new government. On the other hand, Trump supporters let no opportunity pass by without saying that they see the bigger truth and that America will be great again. Greater than any other nation. That the Clintons, the Obamas and the Bushes are dark and evil and guilty of many crimes against humanity. That they have deceived us for so long and have ruled the world and kept us under control. “Finally”, many statements say, “they are getting what they deserve.” While it may well be true what is said about either side, energetically there is no better way to keep up the old paradigm of fear. Because, honestly, what frequencies are we operating in here? Of unconditional love? Accepting everyone as they are as part of the whole, knowing everyone serves the higher purpose?

… tricked into Ego-Fear Mode again…

Certainly not. The current energies the human collective produces are all ego driven, low frequencies of fear. Judgment, blame, hate, anger, frustration are around everywhere. We can even see statements in the spiritual world that we are fighting and at war against the elite or against the narcissist – in the name of love. Seriously, does anyone out there feel that this is how universal and unconditional love is supposed to manifest? By bashing the other side? Do you realize how much we are pushed back into duality? The collective, including big parts of the spiritual community have let themselves be tricked into these low frequencies again. As long as we are caught up in the human drama, we cannot see the bigger truth.

“There is no way energetically, we will create an environment of love and shift the collective into the fifth dimension as long as we react to fear with fear.”

But – there is no way energetically, we will create an environment of love and shift the collective into the fifth dimension as long as we react to fear with fear. Just as we do not raise our frequency individually when we stay in victim and perpetrator mode, not taking responsibility for the reality we create with our own energetic vibes, we don’t raise our frequency as a collective when we continue playing this game. We all are co-creating this together. And it is our choice, our free will, whether to choose love or fear. The elite understands the concept of free will really well and is very creative to make us choose fear collectively. And they are on their way of succeeding again. Can you see it now?

… So what is the solution?

Be grateful, compassionate and take Responsibility.

Instead, we have to learn to be grateful for this experience and outcome, as this is a high frequency of love. When we understand the Universal energetic laws, we understand that our reality is nothing else but a manifestation of our individual and collective energy. Discernment is key! We have created this with our own vibes that we were sending out as a collective. Energetically speaking, we chose this! We cannot solve this or see this from a human perspective. This is about moving beyond being human, beyond the drama, the catastrophes, the pain, the need for revenge, the need to fight. As the Dalai Lama says: “What is Love? It is is the absence of judgment.” And “Love is what we are born with, fear is what we learn here.” And now the time has come to unlearn fear and return to our essence: Unconditional love and compassion for all that is. To live a life in peace and harmony, based on oneness.

granny,

i'm not sure why you would assume that i am on a high horse or not willing to contribute articles.

just so you understand where i'm coming from:

i used to submit articles for a while, and for a while, each and every article i submitted was posted in the daily digest.

not only that, but the articles that showed up in the daily digest were from a good variety of sources, and fewer from the mainstream media.

lately, that has gone to none of the articles i submitted being posted, despite them being relevant (IMHO) to peakprosperity themes, as well as it seeming like the posted articles moving away from good "alternative media" sources and towards mainstream media ones.

clearly, something has changed lately, and the articles posted have been disappointing, i used to find inspiring and eye-opening articles here, and i don't any more.

FYI

An observation

Thought this was beautiful...

https://twitter.com/Almaharel/status/822939393879146496

No longer interested in what people say. Just curious about what they do, and are going to do. That being said - 12:30 to 12:50 might make you cringe.

We'll all just have to wait and see.

Taking America further into war will completely shatter her social fabric.

Simply an observation.

I'm jdargis!

Hi Reflector,

I am sorry to hear about issues with the Daily Digest. To be honest, lately I have been receiving very few submissions and when I do not get enough submissions on any given day, I have to find my own articles to fill in. I am beginning to suspect I'm having email forwarding issues. I do get spam emails addressed to [email protected] but perhaps another issue is at play here. I will check with IT as we did recently migrate our email servers and the issue might be there.

I have been curating and publishing the Daily Digest every day, more or less, for more than seven years at this point and my job is much easier when I get a variety of submissions every day. I don't like having to look up too many articles, as PP is by no means my full time job and I can't put the time into it that I'd like. I do use many of the same sites for that reason. Please keep sending articles, even to my personal email at [email protected]. Thank you!

T4T

From son #2 this morning (he gave me T4T for my birthday)

"Someone pointed out 76 years from Washington's first inauguration to Lincoln's last, then 76 years to fdr in 1941, then trump in 2017...

Rather than viewing Trump's victory through the lens of the left-right paradigm, we need to step back and view it in terms of a longer and larger historical perspective.

the real motivation on india's cash ban

"Cashless payment has the potential to root out corruption from the system and citizens must adopt cashless transactions as a way of life," the Chief Minister said ...

that is quite an ironic quote, saxplayer.

that hapless bureaucrat sonowal is still today (the 22nd) trying to push the idea that india's cash ban is some sort of anti-corruption measure, even after all the revelations came out recently about who's really behind the cash ban.

the cash ban, demonetizing rupee notes, is itself corruption, and a breach of the government's promises to its people as to what constitutes money.

india's cash ban was actually initiated by large american companies including mastercard and visa, because they can't stand the fact that indians transact directly with each other using cash, and these companies want to skim some of that action.

here is the sri lanka guardian:

Quote:

According to most media reports, Modi’s demonetization was an arbitrary decision. Be sure, there is nothing arbitrary behind this decision. As reported on 1 January 2017 by German investigative business journalist, Norbert Haering, in his blog, “Money and More”, this move was well prepared and financed by Washington through USAID. Mr. Modi didn’t even bother presenting the idea to the Parliament for debate.

...

Those who are supporting the Catalyst idea in India – and presumably elsewhere in the world, are, as per an USAID Beyond-Cash report, more than 35 Indian, American and international organizations (http://cashlesscatalyst.org/), mostly IT and payment service providers, including the Better Than Cash Alliance, the Gates Foundation (Microsoft), Omidyar Network (eBay), the Dell Foundation Mastercard, Visa, Metlife Foundation. All of them want to make money from digital payments – another transfer from the poor to the rich – another catalyst for widening the rich-poor gab – worldwide.

http://www.slguardian.org/2017/01/india-crime-of-the-century-financial-g...

and:

Dr. Norbert Haering: A well-kept open secret: Washington is behind India’s brutal experiment of abolishing most cash

Quote:

US-President Barack Obama has declared the strategic partnership with India a priority of his foreign policy. China needs to be reined in. In the context of this partnership, the US government’s development agency USAID has negotiated cooperation agreements with the Indian ministry of finance. One of these has the declared goal to push back the use of cash in favor of digital payments in India and globally.

http://norberthaering.de/en/home/27-german/news/745-washington-s-role-in-india#weiterlesen

and:

USAID Launches Catalyst to Drive Cashless Payments in India

https://www.usaid.gov/india/press-releases/oct-14-2016-usaid-launches-catalyst-drive-cashless-payments-india

this info goes a long way towards explaining why narendra modi betrayed his countrymen and stabbed them in the back.

the only question remaining, is what was modi's price for this betrayal? a billion dollar bribe? it wouldn't surprise me, and it would be a small price to pay for mastercard and visa to gain 1.3 billion customers (india's population).

Is it any wonder?

It is easy to see every Deep State action as some sort of conspiracy and write is off as the paranoia of some wide-eyed waco blogger. However, if we refer back to the "Rothchild-ian" adage of "he who controls the currency, controls the government" (paraphrased), Mr. Haerings observations are quite valid given the activities of other banks getting their cut of the action. As report by the CBC, the "stick handling" continues between major currency controllers on who will have access to the lucrative cash flow of global consumption. Removing people from the direct exchange of goods and services, only weakens our ability to control our wealth and erodes relationships and divides communities. As pointed out by the article:

Walmart claims the fees Visa charges the retailer to process payments are too high, saying it pays more than $100 million a year in such charges and wants that number lowered. Visa, meanwhile, counters that Walmart already gets some of the lowest fees it has offered to any retailer in Canada.

"We're committed to continuing negotiations with Visa, and we are still hopeful to reach an agreement‎," the Walmart spokesman said.

Interchange fees

The battle comes against a backdrop of increased scrutiny over interchange fees, a term used to describe the amounts that credit processors charge retailers for processing every transaction.

Typically, they are expressed as a percentage of the total value of the goods being sold. While shoppers don't pay those fees directly, they are usually factored into the price, and Canadian interchange fees are among the highest in the world.
