Evergrande misses second offshore bond payment – Reuters

China Evergrande Group (3333.HK) missed paying bond interest due on Wednesday, two bondholders said, its second unpaid offshore debt obligation in a week, although the cash-strapped company on Thursday made a partial payment to some of its onshore investors.

China is combating crypto with a push for the digital yuan – Quartz

After almost eight years in development, the digital yuan arrived in the wallets of ordinary users in government-led trials last year. The digital currency is distributed to consumers by the central bank via six major commercial banks, usually through a wallet app. Users can make payments by scanning QR codes or using wearable devices, including physical wallets that are embedded with digital yuan chips developed by Postal Savings Bank of China, one of the six banks. By June, around 20 million digital yuan wallets existed, and transaction volume had reached 34.5 billion yuan ($5.3 billion), according to the government.

Will China’s ‘digital yuan’ reinvent money as we know it? – The Spectator

What’s behind China’s latest crackdown on crypto? For some time, Beijing has banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrency exchanges from operating within its borders. Last week, the Chinese Communist party extended the ban to criminalise anyone dealing in crypto. ‘Virtual currency-related business activities are illegal,’ declared the People’s Bank of China. The CCP would ‘resolutely clamp down on virtual currency speculation… to safeguard people’s properties and maintain economic, financial and social order’.

What happens if Congress doesn’t raise the US debt limit? – Quartz

It used to be unthinkable that the US would default on its debt. Now the question comes up every few years.

The US has a legal limit on the amount of federal debt it can issue, which Congress has to raise or suspend every so often to continue paying its bills. (This borrowing, mind you, is for spending that Congress has already approved.)

International shipping workers warn of ‘global transport systems collapse’ unless pandemic restrictions on trade and movement are quickly lifted – Daily Mail

A coalition of unions that represent shipping workers around the world has warned of an imminent ‘global transport systems collapse’ due to lingering impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an open letter on Wednesday, the workers groups warned that fragmented and inconsistent pandemic restrictions around the world have thrown global shipping into chaos.

The warning comes as supply-chain backlogs leave scores of cargo ships idling outside US ports, exacerbating shortages caused by a national truck driver shortage that threatens to derail the Christmas shopping season.

Renewables tipped to overtake fossil fuels by 2030 – Sydney Morning Herald

Australia’s clean energy transition is tipped to accelerate to the point that most homes will have solar panels paired with batteries by 2030 and the nation could have the highest penetration of renewable energy per-capita of anywhere in the world.

Business/Robbery, etc. – Spectator Australia

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has belled the cat. It is the Western world’s international financiers, not Australia’s best interests, that have dictated that Australia must embrace zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 preceded by tougher reductions by 2030. Otherwise, says Frydenberg, our sources of international funds will dry up, our exports will be threatened and our economy put at risk. Bad luck about our carbon-intensive exports that Australia’s economic strength relies on, or our cheap reliable fossil-fuelled energy. But now that we have to have zero, let it be our way, not the economically suicidal method the European/US climate catastrophists will seek to impose on Australia (and the rest of our Indo-Pacific region) at November’s climate summit in Glasgow.

YouTube will now ban content with vaccine misinformation – TechCrunch

YouTube expanded its medical misinformation policies today to include new guidelines that ban vaccine misinformation. The Google-owned video platform had previously banned over 1 million videos spreading dangerous COVID-19 misinformation. Now, YouTube says it will also remove content that spreads misinformation about vaccine safety, the efficacy of vaccines and ingredients in vaccines. The platform previously banned misinformation specific to coronavirus vaccines, but now, its policies are being updated to also block misinformation about routine immunizations, like those for measles and Hepatitis B, as well as general false statements about vaccines that are confirmed safe by local health authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO).

This change in policy comes as COVID-19 vaccination rates slow — in the U.S., about 55% of people are fully vaccinated, but these percentages are larger in countries like Canada and the United Kingdom, which have vaccinated 71% and 67% of people against COVID-19, respectively. But President Biden has pointed to social media platforms as a place where vaccine misinformation spreads. The White House has even enlisted the help of rising superstars like Olivia Rodrigo to encourage Americans to get vaccinated.

Expert asked about vitamin C, zinc during court challenge to COVID-19 vaccine mandate – Sydney Morning Herald

A vaccination and infectious disease expert has been asked if vitamin C and zinc are effective at treating COVID-19, during a court challenge to NSW public health orders which require workers in certain industries to get vaccinated.

Healthcare staff including doctors, nurses and paramedics must have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination by Thursday to attend work, or provide a medical certificate detailing why they cannot receive the vaccine.

About 600 people out of the company’s 67,000-person U.S. work force are set to lose their jobs. The airline said it would work with employees who decide to get vaccinated after the company deadline.

The derviatives time bomb - how much fuse is left?

    https://matthewehret.substack.com/p/how-a-time-bomb-was-set-to-usher

Months before COVID19 was sprung onto the world, warnings of a “financial Armageddon” and calls for a “global hegemonic synthetic currency” were being made by leading figures running the WEF and Bank of England.

These statements had been made by former and current Bank of England Governors Mark Carney and Mervyn King respectively and should not be ignored as the world sits atop the largest financial bubble in human history reminiscent of the 1929 bubble that was triggered on black Friday in the USA which unleashed a great depression across Europe and America.

Anyone trying to promote the idea that COVID-19 is the cause of the oncoming collapse of the $1.2 quadrillion derivatives time bomb masquerading as a trans Atlantic economic are either misinformed or outright liars. While not much can be done to help the latter category, the far more numerous members of humanity who find themselves in the first category must be made aware of this fact, and learn some quick elementary lessons in world history. Fast. ...

The US already has the legal framework to forcibly detain the unvaxxed in camps

    https://www.worldviewweekend.com/news/article/cdc-claims-it-has-authority-use-police-do-everything-you-see-going-australia-and

….If you don’t believe the U.S. federal government claims the authority to round up and detain its political enemies under the guise of a health emergency, please take a gander at the sweeping powers Congress has granted to the federal health bureaucracy.

According to the CDC website, Congress granted authority to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which then “delegated” this power to the CDC, to establish quarantine and isolation protocols [i.e. internment camps]. The CDC also claims it has the right to use state and local police to “enforce” these protocols. The CDC makes no bones about the nature of its assumed powers when it states, rather bluntly:

“In addition to serving as medical functions, isolation and quarantine also are ‘police power’ functions, derived from the right of the state to take action affecting individuals for the benefit of society.”

“The federal government derives its authority for isolation and quarantine from the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

“Under section 361 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S. Code § 264), the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services is authorized to take measures to prevent the entry and spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the United States and between states.

“The authority for carrying out these functions on a daily basis has been delegated to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”

The above quote is bureaucratic lingo for a boot on your face.

The CDC goes on to say:

“Public health authorities at the federal, state, local, and tribal levels may sometimes seek help from police or other law enforcement officers to enforce a public health order.”

I asked constitutional attorney John Whitehead if the CDC’s claim of unilateral authority to operate internment camps is legitimately derived from the U.S. Constitution’s commerce clause. And would this be a legitimate use of police powers?

“Not as the people who wrote the Constitution saw it, but as the people in Congress today see it, and in the courts, yes,” said Whitehead, president and founder of the Rutherford Institute. “The founders wrote the Constitution in such a way as to establish separation of powers, so power would not rest in the hands of any single person or entity — but now it does. All power is in the hands of the deep state.”

Although the CDC does not use the word “camps” on the web page cited above, they do use the word “detain.”

Whitehead investigated this issue for his 2015 book Battlefield America and concluded that the camps were already in place.

In 2006 the Bush administration awarded a $385 million contract to KBR Corp. a subsidiary of Haliburton, to build the detention centers.

This is documented on page 54 of Whitehead’s Battlefield America: The War on the American People.

“We called the government agency that let the contract and asked if this was for camps and they would not respond. I talked to a former NSA agent who said they’ve built them but they’re on military bases and they’re ready to go. There are a lot of private prisons run by corporations that could be used as internment camps as well. So they’re already there, and with the president being able to declare a national emergency, such as Proclamation Number 7463 [declared by George W. Bush in 2001], and Congress has never reviewed any of these emergencies to see if they’re justified, it’s going to happen. And they can work with the local police to pull this off.”

The CDC further states that “Isolation and quarantine help protect the public by preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease.”

May have a contagious disease? Did you catch that clever choice of words? You could be completely healthy, but if the government declares you “may” carry a contagion, it claims the right to have you isolated and interned somewhere away from your home.

SeeDHS issues terror alert equating Americans who oppose government Covid restrictions to 9/11 terrorists

Another key word in the above-quoted CDC verbiage is “protect.” It’s critical to note that in Joe Biden’s Sept. 9 nationally televised speech in which he announced shot mandates for all federal workers and all private-sector workers at companies with 100 or more employees, he said his objective was to “protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated.”

While that statement made no logical or scientific sense, it made perfect sense from the standpoint of the new American dictatorship’s political agenda, the onset of which I believe was announced in that Sept. 9 speech.

Biden’s choice of words — he’s “protecting the vaccinated” — sets the stage for a future rounding up of unvaxxed Americans.…

    Interstate commerce clause

Depending on the state involved some red state governors will take exception to feds rounding up citizens of their state IN their state. They would have to try and prevent interstate travel first. Once that happens all hell will truly break loose.

It's been said before, but ...

    Biden isn't thinking clearly:

protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated.”

Aren't the vaccinated already "protected" by their vaccine and the unvaccinated unprotected?

Replying to Sen. Paul humiliates HHS Secretary Becerra for denying the science ...

    thc0655,

The scary thing about that video is that Becerra had no real response to Rand.

Nothing. Just a pablum response "we have looked at the science and the science supports our conclusion."

That is the equivalent of saying "we won't explain it, just do as we say."

Hiding behind empty phrases like that is equivalent to not responding at all.

    That is scary.

If they can't or won't give a real reason for forcing these injections on people, you naturally wonder if there is a reason that they are hiding.

The vaxx pushers know they don’t have to respond to challenges. It’s all about power.

Secretary Becerra knows he doesn’t have to respond to Sen. Paul’s challenge because it’s all and only about power now. Becerra is on the side with the power and they have long since given up genuinely explaining and convincing. Now their only focus is power and coercion, and do they have enough of them to “win.”

What’s the saying? “All tyrannies are based on fraud and coercion. And once the fraud is exposed there is nothing left but coercion.”

Thats  why I’m so sure the coercion we’re seeing now is going to devolve into serious violence. Violence like in Australia today and Germany in 1938-45.

This is not going to end well

I have much more confidence in my state government than I do in the federal government. I am glad to live in a more conservative state right now.

    You might be right.

    Now it is about power.

But that is just another nail in the coffin for the powers that be.

It is easier to rule by deception than to rule by force.

If you rule by force, people know they are being oppressed. And the PTB - making it clear that they are the citizen's enemies - never feel safe.

    Nor should they feel safe.

And once you get to that point, it is only a matter of time.

    percentages matter

RE: #4 During world war II, the USA rounded up Japanese American citizens and put them in interment camps (prisons). Also, the gov took their property as well.

Oh sure.  Just like the Jews were rounded up by Nazi Germany.

Problem is, Jews/Germany were a small fraction of the population - less than 1%.

    Japanese-Americans were a vastly smaller fraction: 0.07%.  (110k J-A vs 142m US pop).

Its much easier to do something reprehensible if it is a very small fraction of the total.  It is much harder when it is - say - 20-30% of the population.  With a disproportionate number of them being the "people of color" that are allegedly a core constituency.

How it started: "Black Lives Matter!"

How its going: "Off to the camps with the unvaxxed black people!"

The "camps" thing won't happen.  The numbers are just too large to manage.  I totally think they'd like to do it, but the numbers say no.  And my sense is the "people of color" are fairly well-armed.

That's why they are just getting desperate.  The unvaxxed minority is too large for them to easily manage.  And the COVID-recovered population is doing nothing but increasing too.
