A German shepherd who Utah firefighters found “huddled under a tree” during the California wildfires has found a new home.

A Draper City firefighter, only identified as Patrick, adopted the dog after rescuing him while battling the Mendocino Complex fire, the Mendocino County Animal Shelter said Saturday. The firefighters from Utah immediately befriended the dog, who they named Mendo.

Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that they would be giving away free samples of non-toxic sunscreen to all of their passengers flying from North American destinations to the islands throughout the month of April.

China Built the World’s Largest Telescope. Then Came the Tourists

China spent $180 million to create the telescope, which officials have repeatedly said will make the country the global leader in radio astronomy. But the local government also spent several times that on this nearby Astronomy Town—hotels, housing, a vineyard, a museum, a playground, classy restaurants, all those themed light fixtures. The government hopes that promoting their scope in this way will encourage tourists and new residents to gravitate to the historically poor Guizhou province.

World’s Second Largest Coral Reef Has Just Been Removed From Endangered List

The world’s second largest coral reef in the world has just been taken off of the endangered places list.

After being danger-listed in 2009, the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System (BBRRS) was removed from the UNESCO World Heritage Center list of “World Heritage in Danger” last month.

This electric plane startup has just received its first order from a California-based jet charter company – and critics believe that it may usher in a whole new era of sustainable air travel in the United States.

Zunum Aero has just received its launch order of 100 hybrid-electric airplanes from JetSuite. The 12-seat passenger jets are set to be delivered by 2022.
