How one Texas storm exposed an energy grid unprepared for climate change
A devastating winter storm that has plunged Texas into an electricity crisis offers warning signs for the U.S. as the Biden administration seeks to prepare for a future in which extreme weather is a greater risk and America is almost entirely powered by renewable energy.
Generating energy is one challenge. But an equally daunting task centers on storing power from renewable energy for extreme events like the one hammering Texas.
Bill Gates: Rich nations should move to ‘100 percent synthetic beef’
Bill Gates recently said that he believes rich nations would help the global fight against climate change by consuming only plant-based meat products instead of beef.
In a recent interview with Technology Review, Gates discussed his new book, “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster,” and emphasized the benefits rich nations could produce by moving to “100% synthetic beef.”
‘Roaring Kitty’ GameStop investor hit with lawsuit

Jobless Americans Face Surprise Tax Bills On Unemployment Benefits
In an absurd twist, many say they might be forced to use the next round of government-provided stimulus checks to pay the government.
The U.S. is about to face what has to be one of the more nonsensical policy failures of the pandemic: Millions of Americans, already struggling financially, could be hit with a huge tax bill because they received unemployment insurance last year.
Cryptocurrency Dogecoin Rockets After Elon Musk Tweets: ‘Who Let The Doge Out?’
Dogecoin suddenly leaped to the eighth-most valuable cryptocurrency on the planet Sunday after Tesla co-founder Elon Musk tweeted: “Who let the Doge out?”
The digital coin with a Shiba Inu theme hit its highest value ever at 8.2 cents a coin Sunday evening, Bloomberg reported. Its previous record in late January was 7.8 cents.
A Harriet Tubman $20? That’s Just the Beginning
Less than a week after taking office, the Biden administration announced it would restart Obama-era plans to redesign the $20 bill, replacing the portrait of President Andrew Jackson with that of abolitionist Harriet Tubman, after more than four years of uncertainty about the note’s future. The decision has revived a fervent debate about who belongs on our currency, and whether the change is just another example of so-called cancel culture at its worst.

Bill Gates / Synthetic Beef
Bill Gates suggestion that wealthy countries should switch to synthetic beef, aka plant based beef alternative, rests on the assumption that in order to give up real meat, a synthetic substitute is required.
Consider the validity of this assumption.
The plant based community considers plant based meat substitutes largely a short term bridging alternative, far less healthy than other minimally processed plant based foods.

Gates
Well, that makes it even easier for me to reject Frankenbeef.
I have adopted a policy of whatever Bill Gates wants me to do, I’m doing the opposite.

Sure, Les!
It’s not hard to figure out Les. Bill Gates is now the largest farmland owner in the US. He preaches that we must now switch to synthetic, plant-based “beef.” How much you wanna bet he plans to sell us that synthetic “beef?” He’s doing the same thing with “vaccines” (i.e. experimental biological agents). He did the same thing with Windows where the real profit center was selling updates and bug fixes, not the original software (which he partially stole).

Taxes on unemployment
Yeah, I got a big bill and I can pay no problem. It sure as heck is better than having to grovel all year while the government exploits my hard earned money and wait come spring for a refund of my trashed money. But it isn't right for me or anybody to pay taxes like we do for what? For our government to control us more? To support lazy people forever? Here I am camped in an old trailer in a junk yard for over 4 years scrimping and saving working different jobs so I can buy an old house with some land. It just isn't right.
