Cicadas as chicken food?

With the reappearance of the cicada swarms being flashed on most news sites these days, it got me thinking - Will backyard chickens eat cicadas? And if so - can you collect and harvest a free and viable source of food for your flock?  High in protein for broilers?  Anybody know if this would work?

Crazy about nuts

When you're planning your food resilliency and garden, you need to think about producing fats and oils, and protien. Beans may provide protien, but they are annuals (need planted every year). Nut trees, on the other hand, produce with very little effort for a long, long time.
