gold/PMs in an IRA

First time posting on PP here, and not exactly sure if this belongs in the 'investing' group or in the 'gold' group...  I'll try here first!

where next for gold?

Now that the rally off the April crash lows has almost vanished, its probably a good time to see where things are currently regarding the various indicators that might help us to project PM prices going forward.

One month after the April 15 crash, it would appear that "paper" contracts and the attendant leverage are once again driving market prices in PM.

What Smarter Minds Than Mine Think About Gold

If you're long the precious metals, beatings like they're taking today (gold down 4%, silver down 6%) can seriously shake your confidence. At times of self-doubt like these, I look to learn what people smarter than I are thinking; as there's a good chance they're seeing the big picture more clearly.

Over the past week, I've had a lot of good fortune to do just that. The bottom line? More than ever, the smart minds see fewer better options than the precious metals for preserving (and likely increasing) the purchasing power of one's wealth.

FBAR and taxes

I'm looking for what other PM holders are doing regarding FBAR reporting and legally hiding potential capital gains taxes on their metals. I have a goldmoney account. My CPA told me that I need to fill out an FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) this year. I don't owe taxes because I haven't sold anything. The US government just wants to know I have an account now that it's reached a certain size. Does anyone in this group have experiences with this? Also does anyone use an IRA to avoid captial gains taxes on their PM?
