The Brazilian Grape Tree, or Jabuticaba

Speaking of tropical and sub-tropical fruit, this one is really interesting.

The Brazilian Grape Tree, or Jabuticaba
The fruit grows on the trunk and branches directly, without twigs or stems. Native to Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia, the fruit is purplish black, with a white pulp; it can be eaten raw or be used to make jellies and drinks (plain juice or wine). It's been grown successfully in Southern California and Florida.
