Death to the dollar

You may be tempted at some point in the discussion to rashly proclaim, "DEATH TO THE DOLLAR!"

However, this may strike radio listeners as precipitous and hot-headed.

For now, a more gently-delivered assertion of "Disability to the dollar!" probably would suffice. Money mouth

I dissagree!

Our government has been doing this to us for years! Chris should be different.

Chris, give it to us "raw" with absolute truth. Liberate people who are not aware of what is happening by making them jump out of their seat so that they can get off there bum and do something for once!

Death to the dollar

Luckily, I am down hard with the flu right now so I think the best I can do is a droopy dog impression.

If I say it with a slow, nasally whine, would it work?

Deeeeaaath *cough* to the dollah

 Nah, I'll be good.

Sealed

People already experienced enough pain at the gas pumps today.

Perhaps I'll just say, "I too support a strong dollar!" just like Hank.

Lights out

Sorry for your flu. You might want to have a news ticker in front of you during the KDKA interview, just in case the lights go out for the global economy during the hour. From the UK Guardian:

------------

Spanish banking giant Santander is in high-stakes talks with the [UK] government over a last-minute rescue deal to take over Bradford and Bingley and avert a Northern Rock-style run on the bank.

As fears mounted this weekend over the future of the former building society, savers were withdrawing funds online and a steady stream had arrived at its 337 branches across the country asking to withdraw their money.

Sue Matthews, a 46-year-old housewife from Clifton, Bristol, was one of the many who was transferring life savings. 'I have decided to withdraw all my funds. They told me not to worry, but my savings are bigger than the amount the government promises to protect.'

The urgency to resolve the future of B&B was heightened by concerns over Fortis, one of the largest banks in the Low Countries. Belgian and Dutch officials were fighting over the weekend to maintain confidence in Fortis after investors marked its shares down by more than 20 points on Friday.

------------

If a light flashed each time another deposit is redeemed, it would look like a fireworks show.

Remember -- the bailout bill is accreting new text faster than you can speak. Yell

And its cost is ramping up like the national debt clock, with the billions digits spinning into a blur as the fiat hits the fan. Surprised

DEATH TO THE DOLLAR

Great to see you here Machinehead. Your absence has left a gaping hole in my net information stream. My warmest welcome to you at this new meeting place.

I see your attitude towards the dollar has not changed. As I always have said, the worst place for your dollars is in dollars!

I just heard Venezuela is being loaned 1 billion from Russia for Russian arms. After the inflammatory speech directed at Russia from Rice a few weeks back I am not surprised. Seems everything that can go wrong is going wrong.

great interview

Listening right now -- I just discovered you and your website a couple of weeks ago, and have been visiting almost daily. I've been preparing for about 4 years now after learning about peak oil from Mike Ruppert at FTW -- and I see that your recommendations match what I'm already doing (downsizing, getting out of debt, investing in PMs, etc.). You seem to be on all the same pages I am, but with the added advantage of truly understanding all the intricacies of the global economy. So, thank you for this service. I'm sure many others here are learning to protect what they have because of your help and expertise.

Thanks...

It took a real effort to sound normal...my urge was to lie on the floor....mmmmmmmmmmm...the cool, cool floor.

Why is it that the floor is never an option except with the flu when it suddenly makes a lot of sense?

KDKA interview 9/27/08

Excellent job, Chris.  We gathered some friends to listen together, and notified other friends all around the country, whom, we know benefited from what you had to say on KDKA tonight.  Too bad you didn't have more time.  We believe you are the most important up-and-coming voice on the subject in America today, and wish you'd be invited to be on Charlie Rose Show.  We're so glad we're paying subscribers.  You've helped us immensely.

I'm wondering the same
I'm wondering the same thing.  I missed the initial broadcast, but would really like to hear what you had to say.  Will this be available sometime?

Thanks Ben and Dee

I appreciate the support and the feedback.

We've got to figure out how to get our country back on track and I think it starts with a clear definition of the problems and opportunities.

So let's get everybody to watch the crash course and then we'll at least share a common starting point for the rest of the conversation.

I've searched for a podcast, but can't find one. Is one available? If not is there any way to hear the show? Thanks
