Public Presentation in Midland, Texas

Thursday, September 16, 2010, 8:55 AM

I’ve just returned from Iceland, which was an incredible trip packed into a short few days.  I met a number of truly excellent thinkers and speakers, and felt fortunate to be able to participate in a dialogue around different approaches to the world economy's growth paradigm.  I'll have more to say on Iceland later.

To anyone with the opportunity to do so, I’d recommend a visit to Iceland’s Blue Lagoon.  I spent an absolutely wonderful afternoon there yesterday, and left Iceland a little more relaxed and rejuvenated before stepping on the plane.  I normally avoid anything that is an obvious tourist trap, but this one was a treat.

Next week I’ll hit the road again, to the altogether different environs of Texas, and I have another public speaking opportunity to offer readers.

Through the generosity of site member Paul Morrow, I will be presenting a one-hour talk with ample opportunity for Q&A in Midland, Texas.  As with public talks in Northampton, MA and Sonora, CA earlier this year, the talk will take place at a grand community theater, and is intended to be a focal point to raise awareness and get neighbors in gear to begin the process of building resilience in their lives.

If you’re within an accessible distance to Midland and would like to attend, please send your RSVPs to Megan Walsh so that we can anticipate how many guests will be joining the event.

Here’s the information:

Re: Public Presentation in Midland, Texas

Who else googled Midland, TX and considered the time/cost of making ther trip?

Turns out it is not feasible in any sense of the word. Too bad...

I'm hoping there is a Chicago/St. Louis/Indianapolis talk somewhere in the future.

Southwest airlines flys into Midland Air Field with a no "get off" flight out of Chicago.  Maybe you could find a friend with a free ticket.  It wouldn't be the easiest thing to do, but it's a chance to hear Chris speak in person.  Had to be somewhere.
