One-Day Seminar in New Paltz, Sunday, April 11th

Friday, March 5, 2010, 12:44 PM

We’ve been working to bring a seminar and public talk to New Paltz, NY with long-time site member SagerXX, and it is our hope that it will bring together a diverse network of Hudson Valley community groups and enable them to begin to interact around this material on a regional level.

If you have wanted to attend previous seminars, but have not been able to because of cost or time constraints, this one-day “digest” version provides a unique opportunity to begin your process of emotional acceptance and personal strategizing.

To learn more about the seminar and register, click hereGiven space limitations and the proximity of the date, we advise early registration.

The details:

Sunday, April 11, 2010

SUNY New Paltz

Student Union Building

9:30am – 5:00pm

Lunch: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

In this exclusive one-day seminar opportunity in New Paltz, New York, Becca and I will offer a compact version of our popular weekend-long Crash Course seminars.

Participants will:

  • Find out what others have done and are doing to prepare
  • Learn how to talk to loved ones, colleagues, and friends about the changes that are coming
  • Prepare a list of things to do
  • Emerge with a clear sense that now is the time to take actions

The seminar's positive message can help reluctant spouses, partners, or friends understand the material and face the changes ahead in an environment free of fear and full of support.

Registration is $99 per person.  Need-based scholarships are available on a limited basis.  For more information or to register, click here.

Becca and I look forward to a day packed with information and action, and to meeting you in New Paltz next month.

The day prior there will be a public talk also held at SUNY, here are the details:

Dr. Chris on WDST-FM 3/21 @ 8 a.m.

Hey all --

Very exciting news -- Doug Grunther, the host of a popular Sunday-morning talk show on WDST in Woodstock, NY (100.1 FM), has agreed to interview Dr. Chris on March 21st from 8 - 9 a.m.   WIN!

WDST has the largest broadcast area of any FM station in the Hudson Valley, so we should be able to get folks "out of the know" into the know and get their heinies to the events at SUNY New Paltz in April.  If you're in the area, be sure to tune in.  You can also listen live via webstream at www.wdst.com/index.php?page=player.

Our Band of Brothers (and one sister)...

...have now booked an appearance on radio station WJFF (http://www.wjffradio.org/wjff/index.php?section=1), a local Catskills FM radio station that is powered by hydroelectric energy (I'm not kidding!).

While Dr. Chris will be on WDST (the 800-pound gorilla of Hudson Valley FM), this appearance will be done by the group that's getting this New Paltz thing together.  We'll be on at 7:30 p.m. on Monday April 5th.  At least 4 of the 6 of us will be going.  The radio gig will be preceded by dinner with our radio host (Dick Riseling) at his local farm, which is powered by hydro and PV, and is sustainable/organic/permacultured 9 ways to Sunday.  It's exciting to get a chance to go on-air to promote the events, but it'll also be a gas to meet Dick and his wife who are evidently fine folks.

If you want to hear us do our thing, you can listen live on April 5th by clicking on the link at the top right of the home page linked above.

Hey all --

Just a quick message about the radio appearance explained below.  Looks like all 7 of the organizing group are going to be there, which for me makes it a fun field trip with the good folks I've come to know so well during the last 8 months of planning and manifesting next weekend's events.

And here's a link to the website of the couple that are hosting us for dinner and then the radio show:

The farm is all about sustainability and off-grid living, so I'll be wide-eyed and open-eared.  Hopefull it'll be another good connection for networking and learning more about how to decouple from the traditional economy.

And again, to listen live to our appearance tomorrow night, go to

and click on the 'listen online' link in the upper-right-hand corner.

IT'S ON: One-Day Seminar in New Paltz, Sunday, April 11th

Hey all --

Just a quick post to say there are a few spots left in the Sunday seminar, so it's not too late to sign up and come to New Paltz!  I'm ever so psyched to meet Dr. Chris and Becca and to spend an entire day in a room full of people who *get* it!  (FYI:  If you decide to come last minute then registration on the day is check or cash only -- we won't be able to process cc's or debit cards.)

Looking forward to meeting some of you fine fine people!

Viva -- Sager
