What Should I Do?

Following Us

Some exciting news: we're going to be increasing the amount of fresh content on this site over the next few months.

Most notably, we're going to have more frequent in-depth reports (both public and premium) and substantially more 'What Should I Do?'-related articles.

Please forgive me for being a bit cryptic about the specifics at the moment. But the details will be announced here on the site soon.

In the meantime, for those of you interested in making sure you don't miss new articles as they're released, I wanted to highlight your options for having our new content sent directly to you.

  • RSS (including personal homepages like MyYahoo!) - if you like to get your favorite content all in one place (via a news/RSS reader like Google Reader or a personalized homepage like MyYahoo! or iGoogle), adding our feed is easy. Simply click here and select your preferred service from the 'Subscribe Now' box at the top right.
  • Facebook - if you follow our Facebook page, our new posts get inserted into your personal Facebook feed as they're released. Plus, we also push out observations daily in response to market activity and world developments, as well as notable insights Chris may have during the day.
  • Twitter - subscribing to our Twitter feed is another great way to stay current on the news and developments that Chris and I flag as noteworthy on a daily basis.
  • Email - receive a daily summary of new posts (e.g. Daily Digest, new blog and 'What Should I Do?' articles) in your email inbox. Click here to sign up.
  • iTunes - in response to popular demand, we've created an iTunes channel for subscribing to our public podcast interviews. Now it's much easier to download our interviews onto your iPod, iPad, or mp3 player. (We're still in the process of uploading all our past interviews to this channel, so bear with us: they should all be loaded be end-of-day tomorrow)

If you have questions on setting up any of these services, don't hestitate to PM me or post in the Comments section below.

For those teased by my hints above about the coming new site content, we'll unveil the first new installment next week. Stay tuned!

cheers,

Adam

You rock, Adam. I just can't tell you how great it is to see CM.com really taking off and growing under your business/marketing leadership, and (of course), Chris' continuing economic brilliance.

Gotta run - I want to be the first to subscribe to the new channel!

Best,

Erik

Hopefully the podcasts will still be available for download straight from the web page.  I don't have and never intend to use any Apple product as I strongly disagree with Apple's litigious nature.

Don't worry

Don't worry, rhare. They'll still be available within the posts on this site, as they have been to date.

And thanks for the kind words, Erik!

cheers,

The iTunes podcast is titled "Featured Voices"

The iTunes podcast is titled "Featured Voices", therefore when searching for CM podcasts on my iPhone, I must look for "Featured Voices".

IMO, this is not normal iTunes titling.

rhare,

I put in a call to Steve Jobs about your post, and he is sending a team of laywers to Albuquerque to file suit this morning

Thanks Adam for getting this done. I was begining to think that you guys decided against publishing in iTunes. I reaIize that it can be a real pain in the Bernank to get it set-up.

Thanks again, and I will be sure to write an excellent review.

Best...Jeff

Question & Answer

What about a question & answer section? Maybe Chris can take one or two questions a week from the subscribers and answer them?

It doesn't have to be anything too complicated. Maybe a paragraph blurb in response to each question.

Podcast request

Hi Adam,

It would be great if you guys could provide a special RSS feed for the audio podcasts.

This will make it much easier for those of us who use podcast feeds to automatically download them to our mobile devices.

I really appreciate all the work being done by the ChrisMartenson staff.   Thank you!

I'll keep an eye out for the roaming lawyers....

I wouldn't be surprised if they did, they seem to operate like team Obama to squash any dissent - "our products are perfect and yes we stole invented them".

Anyway, Adam, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful.  I think anything that gets the message out is great,  I just don't like Apple, and never have since the late 80's when they were suing for look and feel that they stole from XeroX - yes they have been litigious for the entire life of the company and I still have my button

commerce section

How about a buy, trade, and sell section where CMers can do commerce with one another for a small (uh, very small) fee?

Chris,

Perhaps you could share a little more of your knowledge about best ways to access podcasts with both the site admins here and the rest of us who only know the simplest "use iTunes" methods.

IMHO, what CM.com really needs to do is to provide enrolled members with a good way to automatically download the latest "Chris and Mish" podcasts and other paid-subscriber-only content. It's just too much of a pain in the tail to manually download, save, open iTunes, suck the .MP3 in, stick it in a playlist, etc.

My assumption is that the reason they chose to support iTunes on the free side only is that they didn't see a good way (nor do I) to automate the process of getting the podcasts behind the paywall onto enrolled members' .MP3 players. It sounds (???) like you know how to make that work using an RSS feed. If so, please share that knowledge with Adam! (And us too!)

Thanks in advance,

Erik

Hi Erik,

It is possible to have protected iTunes podcast feeds, as I subscribe to several monetized podcasts. You enter you name and password when you first subscribe to the feed and iTunes remembers it after that. It really works quite nicely.

You can even add PDFs to the podcast feed, so Dr. M's enrolled-member reports could also be automatically downloaded to your computer > device.

Though I have yet to set-up a monotized podcast myself, I think all it requires is a password-protected folder on the server for the iTunes feed. I'll see if I can dig-up some specific instructions if the CM team is interested in doing this.

Best....Jeff

Thanks Jeff!!!

ADAM: Can we have this? Or at least put it on the wishlist? Sounds like Jeff knows how to set it up so we can have the enrolled podcasts thru iTunes, and I'm sure quite a few of us would really appreciate having this feature.

Best,

Erik
