Not feeling it

From reading the posts o this forum for the past couple of weeks now. I feel that most people do not comprehend the disastrous effect a monetary collapse would have on a nation or world of people. Worrying about how much you would need to ride it out is ludicrous for the bottom 80% of people.

Only Time The National Debt Deceased

Did you know that the only time in American history the national debt reversed was when President Andrew Jackson refused to renew the Central Bank Charter in 1832. The national debt at that time was near $1,000,000. Andrew Jackson's administration was able to reduce that down to $25,000 by 1836. Never since then has the national debt seen such a reversal, especially not after December 24th of 1913, when the Federal Reserve System was past in the early wee morning hours of Christmas Eve.

Timeline for our way of life to collapse in plain language

We are now in the decline stage heading towards the collapse. The reasons are; to many humans occupy the planet resources are running scrace or near running out, quality and quantity of food is noteably getting worse, when these things reach a critical point people will start to panic and choas will start setting in. Since resources are running out to sustain the ability to get to work,  put a roof over your head i.e oil, gas, coal, raw materials for cars, clothes, houses, apartments, increasing demand for land to grow more food.

Each citizens fair share

I have to get this off my chest. Every time I check the national debt I also see this statement "Each citizen's share of this debt is $47,998.50", since we went to the total fiat system in 1971, all the money in circulation since then is debt money. Each citizen has not received an equal share of all the cumulative debt money that has been created. You want to talk about inequality! and who should pay their fair share.

The Economics of Happiness

This may have already been posted, but I highly recommend the dvd The Economics of Happiness by Helena Norberg-Hodge, Steven Gorelick and John Page, featuring a number of names that may be recognizeable to folks around here, i.e., Bill McKibben, Richard Heinberg and Rob Hopkins.  It really frames our current fix and talks about how to move forward, localization, small scale farming, slow food, etc.  Also, some nice scenery.
