How to get into the solar field?

My advice would be to start a business on your own :) It seems to me like the demand for solar panel installation in India is huge, e.g.:

India's rural poor give up on power grid, go solar

I don't know any specifics, especially not about India, but get out there, find people who are thinking about installing solar panels, give them your business card, you may want to start by working for free to get some experience maybe... If you have a client that's willing to wait 2~3 months until you "get it right", then that's good for experience. And hit the books, etc.

But forget about school. Been there, done that, you won't find anyone down-to-earth over there unfortunately, trust me...

Anyway, for solar systems, it does not seem like one would need a lot of money to start a business... Just start with small ~100W systems (I imagine there are a lot of rural Indians that would want one of those, and could afford it), ask the customer to pay in advance and do the job. Hopefully you can find people that trust you enough to give you money in advance :) Good luck

    Check the installation before the installers leave and make sure everything looks neat and tidy, especially the wiring.
