Check out the biolite camp stove.  They are coming out with a homestove in the future.

For now this one is extremely portable and cooks without fuel other than renewable sources like sticks, pine cones, etc

Did you happen to find that on one of the computer trade rags "great summer gadgets of 2012" slideshow that came out a few days ago. smiley  I was going to post it as well, but you beat me too it....
