Richmond Occupy defends Tea Party

Occupy Protesters back Tea Party against city (Reuters)

After the city accused the Richmond Tea Party of being overdue on tax filings, Occupy Richmond issued a statement saying "it would not surprise us" if the move was "retaliation" for the Tea Party's criticism of Mayor Dwight Jones.

Occupy Wall Street - a first hand assessment

Here is an honest assessment of what's going on with the Occupy Wall Street protest by someone who has been part of it for, it seems, at least several days.  It was forwarded to an email list I monitor by a friend of the writer.  If is assessment is correct, it's important to pay attention to this movement as it could lead to all sorts of big and unpredictable changes - some of them positive and some not (think about the response of those in high places if this movement grows enough to pose a serious threat to the status quo).

October 7th, 2009

Students host peaceful, 'Funk the War' rally to call and end to both wars, and to spend some of this wasted money on education. Also, to stop sending military recruiters into their school.

April 1 Tea Party Campaign

You know, I'm generally the type who ignores anything resembling an e-mail chain letter, and I very seldom participate in protests organized online. But I thought this e-mail I received today was so well written I just had to post it here. I've already addressed and stamped a half-dozen envelopes with tea bags. --Erik

Head of central bank rufuses to step down: Iceland

Mass protests in Iceland culminated in almost 2% of the
population standing outside the Althingi parliament building on January
24, demanding the dissolution of the government. Under severe pressure,
Prime Minister Haarde reluctantly resigned, citing health problems.
Astonishingly, the head of the central bank and the architect of the
economy, David Oddson, has refused to step down.
